Phoenix offers free fuel to bus companies giving free rides to health workers

MANILA: “Give and you shall receive,” that’s been the kind of synergy Filipinos have been seeing between health workers and private sector during this enhanced community quarantine caused by Covid-19.

In order to literally keep the buses that shuttle medical personnel running, Phoenix Petroleum is giving away free fuel to 60  companies participating in the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) Free Ride for Health Workers Program.

"Phoenix is committed to our goal of becoming an indispensable partner of everyone whose life we touch, and we wanted to show to the people that even during a crisis like this, Phoenix is here to serve them and even extend more help to those in need. We partnered with DOTr because we support the government's efforts in helping our health workers. Their role in this situation is crucial, so we want to make it easier for these brave individuals. Through this initiative, we will be able to help more people, while staying true to our ‘Sasamahan ka ng Phoenix’ [Phoenix will be with you> battlecry," Phoenix Petroleoum Philippines, Inc. senior vice president Raymond Zorilla said.

Buses for each of the 60 companies must complete at least two roundtrips per day to avail of the free fuel. They must go to staging areas set up by Phoenix Petroleum to claim the vouchers that are certified and signed by the staging area leader. Buses will then proceed to their assigned station to claim their fuel and have the voucher signed by Phoenix’s authorized representative.

• PNX RETAIL CODO-Potrero in Malabon
• PNX AFA PSPC-Filinvest-Northgate in Alabang, Muntinlupa
