Scion tC RS 10.0 Marks an End of Scion Era at NYC 2016

MANILA: Scion is bidding adieu with a bang by launching a tuner-inspired 2016 Scion tC Release Series 10.0 at the New York Auto Show 2016 to celebrate its 14-year show on the road. The Scion primarily features sports compact vehicles for over a decade and the NYC show will be the farewell for the marque of Toyota where it will be having its own display of the most daring projects from the past.

The Scion tC is the top-selling sporty hatchback coupe from the brand under the partnership of Kei Miura, popularly known for its JDM aerodynamic designs. The new Barcelona tC will make its appearance at the NYC show along with its parent brand Toyota’s new Prius. The last Scion tC  sports numerous performance and visual enhancements including goodies from TRD , the JDM Aerodynamic kit including front lip spoiler, rear lower spoiler, rocker panels and deck-lid spoiler. Comes in a striking red body paint, the RS tC 10.0 is fitted with the blacked out wheels and badges which perfectly complements its screaming red color.

The same black and red hue can be seen inside also where the red contrast stitching is added on the steering wheel, seat inserts and a parking brake cover while the black is mostly used on the seat covers, dashboard and door trim. The interior is made elegant yet sporty with the red seat belts, numbered badge, carpeted floor & cargo mats.

The last of the “Release Series” special editions, Scion tC Release Series 10.0 will retain the 2.5-litre inline four engine that churns out the maximum power of 179 PS along with the peak torque of 233 Nm. Followed by its debut at the New York Auto Show 2016, the Scion tC RS 10.0 will arrive the Scion dealerships in June with limited editions of just 1,200 units. The 2016 Scion tC price will start at $23,895 for a six-speed manual transmission and $1,150 will be extra on the pockets for those opting for six-speed auto transmission with Dynamic Rev Management.
