MANILA: The first official Tesla Center in the Philippines was officially opened — a few months after the company launched and commissioned the first local supercharging station.

Tesla Philippines Regional Director Isabel Fan said that the newly-opened center serves as a significant milestone for the marque, which showcases its commitment to drive adoption of electric vehicles (EV) in the Philippines.

“Tesla enables the use of electric vehicles by providing a comprehensive and seamless Tesla Experience directly in the Philippines. Tesla Charging Network and services are available and operated 24/7 to serve Tesla owners. We will keep putting the best efforts to further invest in charging infrastructure and hire locals to transcend the Philippines towards sustainable energy,” Fan said.
Gracing the opening ceremony was President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who lauded the company for investing in the Philippines and trusting policies and innovation thrusts.

“Tesla’s decision to invest in the Philippines is a recognition of our nation’s potential, underpinned by forward-thinking policies and a collective determination to innovate,” the country’s chief executive said.
“As Tesla lays the groundwork, and as we invest in infrastructure and implement policies supporting the industry, competition will grow. Then, what may seem as aspirational today – half of the vehicles in our streets as EVs – will become attainable tomorrow,” he added.
Further, Marcos emphasized that aside from sustaining the environment, Tesla empowers local workforce, invests in Filipino talents, and builds a generation of Filipinos equipped with globally sustainable technologies.

“Tesla is building a generation of Filipinos equipped to lead in the global shift towards sustainable technologies such as this,” Marcos said.
Lastly, he thanked Tesla for believing in the Philippines and its potential.
“To Tesla, thank you for believing in the Philippines. Your investment in the country extends beyond transportation and infrastructure; it is in the people and potential of the country. To the Filipino people, let us work together to ensure that this milestone runs parallel with our shared journey towards sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation.”

Aside from the opening of the Tesla Center, the firm also started the initial deliveries of the Model 3. To note, the Model 3 (which has a starting price of P2.136 million) is now available; while the new Model Y (starting price is at P2.396 million) Launch Series is being offered for a limited time.
