Tesla Model Y L

Inside, the Tesla Model Y L comes with a three-row configuration, which allows it to accommodate an additional passenger. Like its standard counterpart, its cabin also comes with a minimalist textile finish, which looks very modern and smart. Additionally, its front seats also come with recline, power tilt, heating, and ventilation functions. However, this time, the L version also offers thigh extension for its driver and front passenger seats. The second row is arguably the best spot inside the cabin thanks to its comfortable captain seats with two-way folding and heating functions. 

One of this EV’s downsides, however, is its cramped third row, which is more ideal for kids and smaller passengers in general. On the plus side, you get a maximum 2,539-L cargo space when you fold the rear seats–talk about an expansive room for your groceries and baggage.

For entertainment and information accessibility, this EV comes with a 16-inch touchscreen display that offers Tesla Theater and is connected to a 19-speaker immersive Tesla Audio System (18 speakers and 1 subwoofer). Second row passengers can also enjoy an 8-inch touchscreen display for a more personalized experience. And, to complete the passenger experience inside the cabin, the Model Y L is equipped with an all-around ambient lighting system, an air filtration system, and a tinted glass roof with ultraviolet and infrared protection.

For starters, the Tesla Model Y L measures 4,969 mm in length, 2,129 mm in width (extended mirrors), and 1,668 mm in height. This SUV also comes with a 3,040-mm wheelbase and a 169-mm ground clearance.

At the front, the Tesla Model Y L’s design remains unchanged. It flaunts the same smooth fascia as its standard counterpart, which is illuminated by a sleek full-width LED daytime running light. Underneath, it also sports a pair of slim angular LED headlights. 

Moving over to the side, its differences with the standard Model Y are now very noticeable. The L version features an extended roofline, which improves airflow and enhances its overall aerodynamics on the road. Additionally, unlike the standard Model Y, which runs on 19-inch Crossflow wheels, the L version features 19-inch Machina 2.0 wheels. However, like its standard counterpart, it also comes with electrically deployable door handles.

Like the front, the rear largely resembles that of the standard Model Y. The L version also retains a full-width LED light strip, which connects the LED taillights. It also comes with a third brake light that is placed on its spoiler for increased visibility, especially at night. Lastly, this EV is equipped with a hands-free, power tailgate. 

The Model Y L comes with Tesla’s advanced multi-link suspension with an electronic continuously variable damping system. Thanks to this setup, you’ll be able to confidently hit sharp turns or corners even at high speeds with this EV. In the city, it also soaks up bumps and other road imperfections quite well. Ultimately, the Model Y L can deliver a very refined and comfortable riding experience for you and your passengers.

The Tesla Model Y L runs on a dual-motor setup that delivers 514 hp. Its motors are powered by an 88.2-kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack (long range), which offers a 681-km WLTP driving range. It supports a fast charging speed of up to 288 km in just 15 minutes. This EV utilizes an all-wheel drivetrain.

This EV is impressively peppy off the line, going from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5 seconds. On the highway, it can effortlessly cruise at high speeds and perform quick overtakes. It is also a very efficient vehicle for your daily commute within the Metro. And, on the weekend, you can bring it on your family’s out-of-town trips.

In terms of safety, the Tesla Model Y L is equipped with 8 exterior cameras (including  new front-facing camera), automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot collision warning, and lane departure avoidance. This EV comes with front and rear disc brakes.

In my opinion, the Tesla Model Y L has a huge potential to increase the brand’s competitiveness in the local market. It effectively combines Tesla’s standard of a smooth and engaging all-electric driving experience with improved practicality and road adaptability.
