Zeekr enters PH market

MANILA: Zeekr and Autohub Group of Companies have forged an alliance that will help build the Chinese automaker’s presence in the Philippines.

Confirming the newly-formed partnership were Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten and Zeekr Director for Southeast Asia Market Penny Liu.

According to Tee Ten, the acquisition of Zeekr’s distributorship in the country serves as a milestone as the company celebrates its 25th year of doing business. “Thank you Zeekr for accepting us as your partner in the Philippines,” he said.

“This is one of the brands that I, myself, will be the ambassador of,” Tee Ten noted.

For her part, Liu said that the strategic partnership is not just a powerful alliance between Autohub and Zeekr but helps push a greener ecosystem in the Philippines.

“We have decided to collaborate with Autohub to bring our high-quality products and services, technology, and unparalleled driver experience to customers,” Liu shared.

“I believe that we will achieve great success and make a lasting impact in the industry,” she added.

To note, Zeekr is the second brand under the Geely Holding Group that has entered the local automotive scene.

Just this month, Lynk and Co was also formally unveiled and United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated’s (UAAGI) will manage the brand’s distributorship.

Tee Ten shared in an interview that the electric vehicle brand’s formal launch — alongside the unveiling of the model offerings — will likely be held within the second quarter of the year.

Last year, Zeekr was able to sell more than 118,000 units around the world — with plans to breach the 200,000-unit sales mark this year.
