2019 Husqvarna FS 450 supermoto unveiled

MANILA: The supermoto bikes are gradually flooding the markets and there is a tremendous growth in the sales too. One of the most recent inclusions to this segment of two-wheelers is the 2019 Husqvarna FS 450, a mean competitive machine which is meant for both newbies as well as experienced riders.

At the recent unveiling of the new Husqvarna FS 450, we could find similarities in the technology used in it to that of the new FC 450 motocross. It has a lot of mechanics and other inclusions that makes it the perfect one in the segment.

It is built on a new two-piece frame that is light and also improves the rigidity. Besides, the carbon fibre subframe helps get the weight down further. The front has triple-clamped split-system upside down forks while the rear has DCC shock. As for the wheels, there are 16.5-inch and 17-inch units on the front and rear respectively. A 310 mm front disc and 220 mm rear don the wheels, both sourced from Brembo.

Speaking about the mechanism, there is a 450 cc SOHC (single-cylinder) motor which propels this supermoto bike to 64 PS and is mated with a 5-speed gearbox unit. The single cylinder head is redesigned to make the engine more compact as the camshaft is moved closer towards a better centre of gravity. This also improves the handling to a great extent besides getting the two-wheeler to be lighter.

The 2019 Husqvarna FS 450 has a saddle height of 890 mm but a very low 102.9 kg of kerb weight (dry). It has a fuel capacity of seven litres. The company will be selling the motorcycle for a price of £9,099 ( i.e.  Php  640,551) in the overseas markets.
