Husqvarna lineup for 2019 revealed

MANILA:  When KTM rolls out model year changes, it’s but natural that the team at Husqvarna follows suit. Husqvarna has revealed that their 2019 model year changes and the details are more than skin deep.

The off-road motorcycle maker has changed the suspension components on its two-stroke models. While the fuel injected TE250i gets a WP Xplor 48 shock absorber, the bigger TE300i gets WP springs. A 39mm throttle body for that precise fuel mist is also part of the new addition for both the motorcycles. The engine management system too has been tweaked for better responsiveness. The carb-only TE150i gets a kick lever while electric start is a standard fare for all the motorcycles. Husqvarna has also added new lithium-ion batteries to the mix for all the motorcycles. A new clutch for the range as well as clutch cover are part of the mechanical updates.

Apart from an electric start, Husqvarna’s entire four-stroke motorcycles’ range receives traction control.  Along with this, the new Huskies also receive a ignition map control on the handlebar. This switch helps change the programming of the ECU and helps achieve optimum traction in the given condition by reducing the power being sent to the rear wheel in two-stroke models. For the four-stroke units, the system does a detailed study of the throttle position and delivers the power precisely. After analyzing the same, it will increase or decrease the power being sent to the rear wheel so that the rider can still be on the top of the motorcycle.  

Husqvarna seems to be on the right path after Steffan Pierer brought the ailing company. They are now looking at diversifying to other countries, with immediate attention to Asian markets, most noticeably India. The company plans to enter the Indian market through KTM and Bajaj. It is likely that motorcycles will be exported to Europe from Bajaj’s Chakan facility.
