VinFast starts reservations for upcoming e-moto line in PH

MANILA: VinFast officially started its early booking program for the three electric motorcycles arriving in the Philippines next month.

The Haiphong-headquartered marque’s arm in the country commenced the reservation period for the VinFast Evo, Feliz II, and Viper will be up until July 18, which will likely serve as the launch date of the nameplates locally. 

VinFast’s recent move in the country came less than a month after it started accepting pre-orders for the same lineup in neighboring country Indonesia. In a statement, the firm said that its expansion of offerings in the Philippines demonstrates its “ability to rapidly advance its strategy of developing a comprehensive green mobility ecosystem across Southeast Asia.”

During the pre-order period, customers can place bookings for VinFast e-motorcycles with a non-refundable booking fee of only P3,000. By doing that, they are bound to receive incentives valued at P5,600.

The initial batch of deliveries to customers in the Philippines is expected to begin next month—likely after the formal launch. 

“The Philippines is one of the key markets in VinFast’s international electric two-wheeler expansion strategy. The introduction of three battery-swapping e-motorcycle models further expands our product ecosystem in the country while offering more green mobility options tailored to the diverse needs of local consumers. We will continue investing comprehensively in products, infrastructure, and services to make the transition to electric mobility the most natural choice for all Filipinos,” VinFast E-motorcycles Overseas Market Managing Director Vo Thi Cam Tu said.

Developed to meet the diverse mobility needs of consumers in the Philippines, VinFast noted that all three e-motorcycle models offer accessible pricing and are accompanied by VinFast’s flexible ownership model, depending on their preferences and usage needs. 

Without diving into details, the Vietnamese marque said that the VinFast Viper will appeal to young customers who are into sporty styling and modern technology. Its key features include:

• A Smart Key system with remote vehicle tracking and locating functions
• A digital gauge cluster
• Projector headlight
• Dual rear shock absorbers with external reservoirs

Meanwhile, the VinFast Evo and VinFast Feliz II are ideal for everyday use as they both combine agile performance, affordable operating costs, and driving ranges suited for urban mobility needs.

Powering all three models is a brushless direct current in-wheel motor (IP-67 rated for water and dust resistance) that can deliver up to 6.9 horsepower. This mill allows the three models to reach top speeds of:

All three offerings come with two battery compartments underneath the seat, allowing the use of up to two 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate energy banks. With those two fully charged, their full electric range can go as far as 150 kilometers. These batteries also comply with the European ECE-R136 safety standard and are covered with a six-year or 72,000-kilometer warranty.

VinFast mentioned that clients may opt to subscribe to two batteries at a monthly fee of P439 per battery, or purchase vehicles with batteries included, depending on their preference—with swapping fees set at P35 per unit. 

Relatedly, VinFast is actively deploying battery-swapping stations across the Philippines through a strategic partnership with V-Green to provide customers with a convenient, fast, and optimized ownership experience.
