QR codes, BSB Junrose logo
“Right now, if you look at Brembo components, you will see QR codes that you can scan with the Brembo app, then it will show you whether it is genuine or not,” BSB Junrose Corporation President Ian Bangayan told the Zigwheels Philippines.
“On our end, with BSB Junrose, we are weighing out placing our own logo on each of the boxes (Brembo products) in order for consumers to safely identify that this is from legitimate sources, or from a legitimate channel and not just from any run-of-the-mill factory,” he added.

Fake products can compromise not only the item’s longevity but also the rider’s safety.
Industry initiative
BSB Junrose and Brembo’s move to ensure that buyers are not duped into spending money for fake parts coincides with the push to combat counterfeit products by major players in the local motorcycle industry.
Not too long ago, the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Incorporated (MDPPA) — whose members include brands like Honda Philippines Incorporated, Kawasaki Motors Corporation, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated, and Yamaha Motor Philippines Incorporated — through its Tropang Maalam campaign, launched a program to inform motorists about the downsides of using fake motorcycle parts.

The group’s actions include consumer awareness campaigns and lobbying governments and their related agencies regarding the issue.
