Suzuki PH reaches 3M motorcycle production milestone

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) has reached its three-millionth motorcycle production milestone after 41 years of doing business in the country.

In a statement, SPH noted that the latest achievement highlighted the Hamamatsu-headquartered marque’s “commitment to manufacturing excellence, strengthened by the continued trust of millions of Filipinos who have made Suzuki part of their everyday lives.”

“From daily commuting to business use and leisure riding, Suzuki motorcycles have become a reliable partner for generations of Filipinos across the country,” the firm claimed.

Further, SPH attributed the local achievement to the “dedication, craftsmanship and discipline of the people behind every Suzuki motorcycle produced through the years.”

“From the production line and engineering teams to plant personnel and employees across operations, the production of the three millionth unit stands as a shared achievement shaped by decades of hard work and commitment to quality,” SPH noted.

“Guided by Suzuki’s Japanese manufacturing principles and standards, Suzuki Philippines continues to uphold precision, efficiency and reliability in every motorcycle that rolls out of its facilities— ensuring that each unit is produced with the same level of care trusted by generations of Filipino riders,” it added.

The three-millionth unit manufactured locally was the Suzuki Access, particularly the top-tier Ride Connect Edition.

To note, this two-wheeler—which is the brand’s top-selling model in India—entered the Philippine market in October last year.

Motorcycle specifications

In terms of design, the retro-looking offering comes with a rectangular headlamp, an all-metal front fender and leg shield, a wide footboard, folding foot pegs, a huge seat as well as a hidden fuel tank cap covered by a lid at the rear located above the taillights.

On paper, the Suzuki Access has the following measurements:

SPH’s three-millionth locally manufactured offering is equipped with a digital meter panel that can connect to smartphones via the Suzuki Ride Connect+. This technology provides navigation information, weather updates, and notifications for incoming calls and messages.

Other amenities that can be found in the Suzuki Access include:

• Passing light switch
• Integrated engine start and kill switch
• One-push central locking system
• All-LED lighting
• Side stand safety switch

Powering the motorcycle is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, single overhead cam 124 cubic centimeter engine with an air-cooling system, a fuel injection system, and a continuously variable transmission.
