Possible topics
Some of the topics that will most likely be discussed in the meeting include the latest technologies, regulations, and compliance policies in the region’s motorcycle industry.
Moreover, Mojica noted that the FAMI members will also talk about the progression of electric vehicles, as well as the latest developments in Vietnam.
Photo by Juan Paulo PapaRelating to brands that have ties with MDPPA, previous reports reveal that Yamaha Motor Company Limited is working on new-energy models, as reflected by its latest showcase at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 (Yamaha Proto BEV, Proto HEV and PHEV), as well as Suzuki Motor Corporation’s e-Address and e-VanVan, which were also showcased at the Japanese auto expo.
FAMI, MDPPA vs. fake motorcycle parts
While Mojica shared that the associations normally discuss the best practices in the motorcycle industry at these meetings, it was discussed in a recently held press conference organized by MDPPA (where they also revealed the association has bumped its year-end sales growth target) that it is also FAMI’s aim to protect consumers from the risks posed by counterfeit motorcycle parts.
MDPPA revealed that FAMI is working to achieve the said objective through the activities of its Intellectual Property Rights Subcommittee. Measures in place look to prevent the sales of counterfeit products, conducting consumer awareness campaigns, and lobbying governments and their related agencies regarding the issue.
FAMI’s move also falls in line with MDPPA’s Tropang Maalam’s push to inform motorists about the downsides of using fake motorcycle parts.
“To sustain the growth of MDPPA, we have to be more aggressive when it comes to pursuing our campaign for the fight against counterfeit spare parts and accessories, and this is a direct support to the Tropang Maalam campaign of the marketing group,” Mojica said.
