The interior cabin of the 7 Series also mimics the luxurious but understated theme as its exterior design. The overall cabin does feel opulent, however, the overall layout is quite similar to the lower priced BMW sedans, as a result of which the cabin doesn’t feel as premium as it should have been.

When it comes to design on the outside, there is no dearth of style and handsomeness in the 7 Series sedan. With a long stance and subtle use of chrome and character lines, the 7 Series has got that much-needed stance as expected from a flagship saloon. However, when compared to its rivals, the 7 Series lacks the futuristic appeal which makes its rivals one step ahead of it.

The 7 Series sedan sold in the Philippines has been adorned with a sleek double kidney grille as in every other BMW offering, which is fully finished in chrome and features active air stream tech. The grille, like in all the other modern BMW sedans positioned below it, get double barrel adaptive LED headlamps adjacent to it on both the sides.

BMW has carried out a subtle execution of chrome on the front bumper, lower portion of the side profile, window outlines, outside rearview mirrors, the lower part of the rear bumper and boot lid, which give it the perfect amount of elegance. The L-shaped LED tail lamps at the rear are quite sleek and long, which do make the rear profile quite authoritative.

The BMW 7 Series features the fine-tuned version of its EfficientDynamics technology, which makes the car feel agile and spirited, despite the size and weight of the car. With a strong CFRP frame and a streamlined profile featuring air curtains on the front apron and active air stream in front grille air breather behind front wheel arches, the 7 Series exhibits aerodynamics in its best form.

In the Philippines, BMW has cut short the engine options for the 7 Series sedan to just three offerings. The smallest is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol motor (730i), which produces 258 PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The mid-spec 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine (740i) belts out 326 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque. Then top-spec 4.4-litre V8 petrol mill (750i), produces 450 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque. All these engines have an 8-speed automatic gearbox as the common transmission.

The BMW 7 Series features all the prominent safety features one would expect from a car of this class, including the front, side, curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, self-parking, cornering brake control, dynamic traction control and hill start assist and many more high-tech active features on board.

The BMW 7 Series might lack the uniqueness in its overall design in and out, however, it has got a certainly understated handsomeness which makes it opulent and worthy of its price point. And when it comes to sheer driving appeal, the 7 Series ranks among the best thanks to the brilliant engine options and fine ride and handling balance.
