Chevrolet Spark

The interior aesthetics of the Chevrolet Spark new variant are here to stay and make an impact. The overall styling updates received by the car are prominently done on the interior design and layout. As you get inside the car you see a whole black-theme inside the cabin space with tints of aluminium to enhance the style quotient. Mostly plastic is seen to be used on the dashboard which does not appear to be of much premium quality. The steering wheel is a conventional three-spoke design and behind the wheel is an instrument cluster with a combination of digital plus analogue where the speedo and the tacho are analogue with other indicators like fuel, seat belt, and more being digital.

For the music lovers, we also get 6 speakers here which usually are not found in a car of this segment. 

The cabin space might be a downside, with a lack of legroom ad headroom space at the rear row. The driver’s seat is 4-way adjustable for utmost comfort and convenience of the driver. 

Although the new Spark is slightly smaller in dimension than the previous one, with the styling upgrades, the new variant looks much refreshing. Dimension wise the Chevrolet Spark measures up to 3,635 mm in length, 1,595 mm in width, and 1,483 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,385 mm.

The suspension duties are taken care by MacPherson Strut upfront and the Torsion Beam Axle at the rear. The Spark gets massive big 15-inch alloy wheels with 185/55 R 15 H tyres at both front and rear. Braking duties are handled by the ventilated discs at the front and drums at the rear. The steering wheel is electrically powered which allows breezy handling for convenient grip to the driver. The car has a smaller turning radius owing to its size which makes it easy to turn the car around in busy city traffic roads. 

Under the bonnet of Chevrolet Spark lies a 1.4-litre inline-4 engine that can produce a maximum of 99 PS of power and 128 Nm of peak torque. The engine is powerful enough to churn out power which can drive the Spark to a 0-100 kmph in around 11 seconds. One can choose between a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission to power the front wheels. Though the engine performance is powerful enough the fuel efficiency is a minor disappointment with just14 kmpl when compared to other competitors in the same segment. 

The Spark comes with quite a few safety features. Dual airbags take care of the driver and the front passenger and the child safety locks ensure complete safety of the little ones in the car.
