Lamborghini Urus Interior & Features
The cabin of the Lamborghini Urus is a perfect amalgamation of sportiness and sophistication, with it having ample space for four people. Lamborghini offers multiple leather upholstery options with dual-tone shades and trims for the S variant, though the Performante variant comes with an all-black Alcantara leather upholstery with carbon fibre inserts across the cabin for a focused and purist theme.
In both variants, the Lamborghini Urus has a four-spoke steering wheel with multiple colour options and contrast stitching and a full-TFT instrument console with multiple display modes for the driver’s cockpit. The dashboard of the Lamborghini Urus has hexagonal AC vents on the corners and centre console, with the ones in the centre console having a large and slanted touchscreen infotainment system below them.
The waterfall-like theme for the centre console flows downwards with another auxiliary touchscreen for climate and vehicular settings such as suspension and ride height controls. The lower centre console also has an array of controls, including the transmission lever and ‘anima’ selector, through which one selects his preferred drive mode among six options on offer.
Urus Exterior
Although the Lamborghini Urus has been in existence for more than half a decade now, its edginess and outrageousness in design still make it look as fresh and cutting-edge as new. In the latest versions, the S and Performante, the Lamborghini Urus received very minor design tweaks, which made the already bold-looking SUVs even more extrovert in appearance.
At the front, the Urus has a fascia, which is typical Lamborghini. It comes with a sloping bonnet, which has slim air vents on the sides of the central part, which is blacked out in the Performante version with a carbon fibre finish. The headlamps here look angular and very modern with full-LED illumination and sleek Y-shaped daytime running LEDs. The front bumper also looks aggressive with sporty air dams across its width, which only gets bigger and sportier while moving towards the sides. The Performante version also gets a carbon fibre front splitter in addition.
When moved towards the side, the Lamborghini Urus makes you remember that it is a typical Lamborghini brainchild, with the SUV having sharp-looking cuts and creases throughout the side profile, including the front and rear fenders and door panels. The sloping coupe-like roofline adds to the visual drama, and so do the alloy wheels on offer. Lamborghini offers a variety of 22-inch and 23-inch alloy wheels and colour finishes for the ceramic brakes on offer for both variants of the Urus. While the S variant has a panoramic sunroof, the Performante variant has a carbon fibre roof sans sunroof.
At the back, the sporty visual drama continues with the Lamborghini Urus getting a sharply-raked rear windscreen with a sporty-looking spoiler above it. The sharply-raked windscreen flows towards the muscular haunch for the boot lid, which has sleek-looking all-LED tail lamps on the sides. Adding more aggression to the rear profile is the massive rear diffuser, which has dual exhaust ports on either side and is finished in carbon fibre in the Performante variant.
Lamborghini Urus Ride & Handling
At the heart of the driving dynamics of the Lamborghini Urus is the Anima selector, through which one selects a drive mode among the six drive modes on offer – three on-road modes including Strada (for ease of comfort and safety), Sport (for increased performance) and Corsa (for maximum performance and precision) and three off-road modes including Neve (for safety over slippery surfaces), Terra (for comfort in off-road conditions) and Sabbia (for traction over sandy and loose surfaces). There is an additional Ego mode, which redefines the steering and suspension settings for more optimal traction. With adaptive air suspension as standard, the Lamborghini Urus also comes with tweaked aerodynamics in the Performante variant for 38 per cent additional downforce and 2 per cent reduced drag, thanks to the new rear spoiler, air curtains and bonnet outlets.
Urus Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Lamborghini Urus comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine as standard, which is slightly more performance-tuned in the Performante variant. Available with an 8-sped dual-clutch automatic transmission, this engine produces 666 bhp of maximum power and 850 Nm of maximum torque. This engine enables the Urus to attain a top speed of 305 kmph in the S and 306 kmph in the Performante variants, with a claimed 0-100 kmph sprint timing of 3.5 seconds. The Performante variant also has a titanium exhaust muffler for a deeper exhaust rumble and performance assistance.
Lamborghini Urus Braking & Safety
In both variants, the Lamborghini Urus is packed with a plethora of safety features, such as eight airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree parking camera, hill start assist, hill descent control and ADAS features like forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, high beam assist and more, making it the most-equipped Lamborghini model till date in terms of safety.
Urus Verdict
The Lamborghini Urus is one of the pinnacles of performance among all SUVs, with a lot of drama in its visual appeal, performance and driving dynamics. With a plethora of comfort, convenience and safety features and enough room for four people, it is also the most practical Lamborghini model to date.
