Mercedes has always been a step ahead of its competitors when it comes to manufacturing executive sedans. The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is the ultimate ultra-modern and luxurious car to drive on the streets of the Philippines in 2019. This two-door version of the C-Class sedan is way ahead of its competitors in terms of performance, comfort and visual appearance.
The face-lifted C-Class has more updates on the inside than on the outside. Once you get into the car, the comfortable leather seats and aluminium textured finishes present all around the cabin are more than enough to ensure that your ride is definitely not going to be an ordinary one. The heated and cooled seats are electronically adjustable in order to offer you extra comfort. The cabin is pretty spacious for a coupe with ample headroom for the driver, however, the two people sitting at the rear won’t be too comfortable unless they are kids. This coupe offers you world class features that might be too much to handle for some people. For example, the flat-bottom steering wheel is leather coated and mounted with two touchpads that you can use to operate the big digital display that comes with a lovely set of graphics. The infotainment system comes equipped with Apple CarPlay and voice control. 64 shades of ambient lighting, wireless charging points, and panoramic roof are some of the other features that uphold the elegance of this vehicle.
The Coupe sits lower than the C-Class sedan from which it is derived. It has a fine roofline that slopes gently into the boot, giving the car an aerodynamic and sporty look from the side. The long hood, diamond radiator grille, and sleek LED headlamps, all provide the Coupe with the required style statement and elegance. Around the rear, you get the standard design language used by Mercedes-Benz on its coupes – horizontally stacked tail lamps and a small yet sporty boot.
The aerodynamic shape of this car gives you a helping hand while cruising at high speeds. You get to choose from 5 different drive modes and the smooth transmission further improves the comfort levels. You can choose to cruise comfortably on ECO mode or chase the wind with the Sport+ mode. The engine is not just powerful but also fuel efficient and is equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction for a greener environment. The coil spring suspension seems to be a bit problematic as you can feel those little bumps which should not be felt otherwise.
The Philippine variant of the C-Class Coupe comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can generate a maximum power of 208 hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The 7-speed automatic transmission offers the necessary boost to propel the Coupe from 0-100kmph in 6.8 seconds and allows it to reach a maximum speed of 250 kmph.
The safety features on the C-Class Coupe allow the driver to drive fearlessly. The cabin is equipped with SRS airbags for the driver and the side passenger. The vehicle stability control system and traction control allow you to effortlessly drive through wet terrains and make those sharp turns around the corners. The electronic brakeforce distribution smartly monitors individual wheels and offers necessary traction to the required wheel wherever necessary. There is a network of sensors around the car that help you to prevent a collision. Engine immobilizer and anti-theft alarm are some of the other features that strengthen the safety aspect of this car.
The price tag on the Mercedes-Benz C250 Coupe (the variant available in the Philippines) is Php 2.7 million and is pretty economical as compared to its rivals in the market, with BMW being the prominent competitor. The Coupe is not just a luxury car but also a true definition of inventiveness and grandeur. Just one look at it is enough to make you fall in love with this coupe. This might not be a cheap car but it is definitely something you can look forward to if you do not wish to miss out on sophistication and swankiness that Mercedes-Benz has to offer.
The Mercedes Benz C Class Coupe is one car that blends in perfectly with almost every type of car that you will find across the Mercedes segment.
