2015 Frankfurt Motor Show: Mercedes-Benz to Unveil 2016 C63 AMG Coupe Edition 1

MANILA: The all-new Mercedes-Benz C63 Coupe Edition 1 teaser released before the Frankfurt Show

Mercedes-Benz will reveal the 2016 C63 AMG Coupe at the Frankfurt Motor Show during September but introduced its first look teaser ahead of the launch. The German automaker revealed this sedan at the Paris Motor Show early this year and its coupe sibling is expected to challenge the BMW M4.

The C63 AMG Coupe will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 4-liter V8 engine which is capable of churning out a maximum power output of 503 hp and peak torque of 516 lb-ft. The entry level model will provide maximum power of 469 hp and peak torque of 479 lb-ft. The coupe has received some suspension tuning keeping low center of gravity. Some minor changes to the chassis have been made so as to define it as a better car exclusively designed for the track.

Th new generation 2016 C63 AMG Coupe is much more advanced than its predecessor. The 2016 model will hold a hydraulic steering system and a standard mechanical-locking differential along with an electronic differential. Mercedes-Benz has also made revisions in the gear transmission system and upgraded the same for a seven-speed SpeedShift automatic in order to improve shift timings.

Comparing to its present rival, BMW M4, which is capable of producing power output of 425 hp and peak torque of 405 lb-ft from a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine still lacks many features and performance while the 2016 C63 S AMG Coupe will be the most powerful.
