Kymco XTOWN 300i

We have seen other Kymco products and they all were fantastically designed. The XTOWN 300 Fi ABS is no exception. Kymco designers must have spent numerous hours on the drawing board to come up with such a design. The XTOWN 300 Fi ABS features a dual headlamp setup. The shape of the headlamp assembly is well thought out. We also like how Kymco has made the LED daytime running lights an integrated part of the headlamp assembly. The front fairing is quite large as it has to cover up many things and also act as an aerodynamic body part. There is also a big windshield to deflect wind and it comes handy when doing high speeds.

The rear end of the XTOWN 300 Fi ABS features a large tail light which has its LEDs laid out in such a fashion that they represent an ‘X’ when lit. This is a nice touch and tells us how much attention Kymco pays to such details. The turn signals are also located in the same tail light assembly.

The cockpit view of the XTOWN 300 Fi ABS shows you its car-like instrument cluster. There are two dials for speed and rev count. Sandwiched between them is a digital panel for displaying a ton of necessary and useful information.

Kymco XTOWN 300 Fi ABS specs have listed telescopic suspension setup at the front and double swing suspension at the rear. Combine this with an ergonomically designed seat and you have got a comfortable and plush riding experience. Thanks to XTOWN’s wheelbase of 1545mm, it remains stable even at triple digit speeds. The XTOWN is a large vehicle and weighs 181 kg, therefore, maneuvering it in very dense traffic and narrow city streets wouldn’t be that easy.

Powering the Kymco XTOWN is a 275.6cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine that has a SOHC and fuel injection. This engine produces 23 PS of max power at 8000 revs and generates 22.5 Nm of torque at 6500 revs. It has a CVT unit for handling the transmission duties. Since the XTOWN has been designed to stay stable on long journeys, its engine is also expected to perform without a hiccup.

The XTOWN 300 Fi ABS comes with disc brakes on both its wheels. However, unlike the Racing King 180 ABS, we don’t get dual disc brakes at the front. This is strange and confusing because the Racing King is a less powerful scooter than the XTOWN and still gets high-performance dual petal discs and USD forks at the front. Anyway, the braking performance of XTOWN 300 Fi ABS is enhanced by Bosch ABS. Also, the wide tires - 120/80-14 front and 150/70-13 rear - provide all the required grip to reduce the braking distance.
