Star Lake Green
Seen as the poster color for the GAC Emkoo, Star Lake Green gives the SUV an elegant look — kind of like fine China.
On that note, the said paintwork highlights some of its luxurious appointments which come in the form of the “Eyes of Revelation” headlamps, “Illuminant” V-shaped grille, and “Quantum Lightsaber” taillamps. These exterior elements give the vehicle its unmistakable appeal and a unique character.

Much like a sculpted jade figurine, the GAC Emkoo also flaunts plenty of sharp angles and straight lines. The fascia has many geometrical segments, which have been adapted and echoed by its flanks and rear end.

The GAC Emkoo has a wide body, which makes for a spacious canvas for the design elements it has to offer. Below is a table showing the dimensions of the GAC Emkoo:

Snow White
Whits is a color we often associate with safety, and GAC granted its SUV a robust list of safety technologies, from standard features to advanced driver-assist systems.
To begin with, the GAC Emkoo comes with dual front airbags, dual front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. The front-row passengers also get seatbelts with pre-tensioners, force limiters, and crash-locking tongues.

A chime reminds the occupants if their seatbelts are unfastened once the vehicle starts rolling.
Enhancing safety while on the road are features like an electronic stability program, hydraulic brake assist, hill-start hold control, hill descent control, a tire pressure monitoring system, door opening warning, electronic child locks, and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.
On top of these are advanced driving nannies, which we have listed below:
- Rear parking sensors
- Rearview, surround-view camera
- Adaptive cruise control with integrated cruise assist
- Traffic sign recognition system
- Forward collision warning
- Autonomous emergency braking
- Automatic emergency braking with vulnerable road user protection
- Lane keep assist
- High beam assist
- Traffic jam assist
- Blind spot detection and lane change assist
- Rear cross traffic alert and rear collision warning
Particularly helpful is the GAC Emkoo’s 360-degree view camera, since it allows owners to get in and out of tight parking spots as well as squeeze through bumper-to-bumper traffic without having to worry about getting their rides accidentally scratched or dented.
Moonlight Gray
Gray is usually related to strength and dependability, and the color best represents the reliable powertrain used by the GAC Emkoo.
Under its hood is a 1.5-liter gasoline “Powerful Mega Wave” engine mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. According to the company’s literature, this setup makes some 177 horsepower (hp) with 270 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.

The author was able to test the GAC Emkoo GL. You can read more about the full review, here.
During my time behind the wheel, the SUV proved not only to be a head-turner (even when driving in inclement weather) but also showcased its ability to go further despite the challenges posed by rain showers.
While the seven-speed automatic sometimes felt jerky, the powerplant had more than enough grunt when moving within the confines of the city, and was more than eager to showcase its peppiness when speeding through the expressways.
Halts and deceleration are handled by disc brakes, front and back. Suspension-wise, it uses a MacPherson setup at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear.

A hybrid version of the GAC Emkoo is now available. It uses a 2.0-liter gasoline mill coupled with a dedicated hybrid transmission. Performance is rated at 140 hp with 180 Nm of pulling power. An electric motor bumps up the numbers by contributing some 179 horses and 300 Nm.
Our writer Cesar Guiderone Miguel was able to sample the GAC Emkoo Hybrid during a media drive hosted by the brand. He called the model a “peppy, efficient powerhouse for the price-conscious.”
According to him its fuel consumption “is comparable to many of its electrified rivals,” which currently includes the likes of the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Honda CR-V RS e:HEV.

For comparison’s sake, here is the fuel consumption of both the non-hybrid and hybrid GAC Emkoo:

Superstar Silver
Silver is typically linked with technology and modernity. That said, it is only befitting to note the technological features offered by the GAC Emkoo when talking about this hue.
Past the SUV’s multi-functional steering wheel is a seven-inch instrument cluster that displays a wide range of driving-related information. Complementing the said screen is a 10.1-inch multi-functional touchscreen display that has Apple Carplay connectivity.

The use of Apple-based applications like Apple Podcasts and Maps blend in seamlessly with the infotainment unit and overall makes the experience of driving the GAC Emkoo more enjoyable.
Impressive also is its center console, which not only look luxurious but also has cubbies to keep one’s daily carry items.
Elegant Black
Black is the color of elegance and sophistication, and the said color resembles the luxurious interior appointments one will find inside the GAC Emkoo’s cabin.
To start off, it has leather seats that are plush and supple. They also have decent bolstering, which cann keep passengers snug even when passing through bumpy roads.

The dashboard, door trims, and central armrest too get soft-touch materials and upholstery, which adds a layer of comfort when they come into contact with one’s skin. The crystal shift knob in particular adds an element of refinement.

Some notable features include the technologies we have listed here:
- Automatic air conditioning
- Air quality sensors
- Power-adjust seats
- Ventilated front seats
- Interior ambient lighting
