2015 Frankfurt Motor Show: All-new mid-size sedan Kia Optima Revealed!

MANILA: Kia has finally launched its mid-size sedan Optima at the Frankfurt motor show. Previously, popular models like Honda Accord, the Mazda 6 and Toyota Camry have been people's all-time choice but now Kia has come up with something different and modern. The sedan resembles the European design creativity alongside its German counterparts. Kia expects a boost in its sales as the fourth-genearation model gets revealed. Undoubtedly, the Frankfurt Motor Show will let Kia attract buyers across the globe.

The exterior gets the same sporty yet elegant character carried over from its previous model. The front fascia gets a tiger nose grille along with sleek wraparound headlights that extend all the way to the flared wheel arches. The streamlined roof line gives the car a coupe looking profile.The halo-style taillights in the rear add an extra star to the design.

The interior is designed especially for luxury and comfort. The dashboard area is divided into two parts, upper display zone and lower control zone. This unique layout keeps the driver focused on the driving and manages switchgear easily. Additionally, Controls like 360-degree camera,advanced smart cruise control, blind-spot detection, lane keep assist, and high-beam assist have been installed.

Under the hood lies an upgraded 1.7-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces peak power of 139 hp and a maximum torque of 340 Nm. The 2.0-litre gasoline variant comes with continuously variable valve-lift control. Kia also revealed that they will be adding a sportier variant to the lineup. The Optima GT model will be powered by a more powerful 2.0-litre T-GDI mill and also equipped with electrically controlled suspension.

The all-new Optima will go on sale in Europe by the fourth quarter of this year. The GT and other new variants will follow in 2016.
