2020 Kia Cadenza is a stylish executive sedan
MANILA: We have said it before and we’ll say it again, sedans are here to stay. Yes, the customer interest might be taking a dip towards the SUV and crossover end of the spectrum, the sedans are here to stay for longer than the pundits say. The last time when Kia gave its E-segment sedan Cadenza an update was in 2016.
Now, after almost three years, the South Korean manufacturer has brought out a refreshed Cadenza. As a matter of fact, the executive sedan is called K7 in its local market. We’ll address the sedan as Cadenza in our story.
Let’s start off with the exterior of the executive sedan. While the 2020 Kia Cadenza features a sleek appearance, the overall design philosophy that the sedan follows is still quite bold and expressive. The front fascia of the 2020 Kia Cadenza houses a pair of sleek looking LED headlamps, larger than before Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille, redesigned bumper,
and revisited fog lamps which reside near the reshaped faux air intakes. Having a look at the rear end of the new Cadenza, we find the sedan to appear a little narrower than before. Also, the taillamps now feature a “Z” element inside them. The rear bumper has also been redesigned and houses new exhaust outlet on either end.
The interior on the 2020 Kia Cadenza complements the era it is a part of. A 12.3-inch fully-digital display plays the role of the instrument cluster while another 12.3-inch display is there as the touchscreen infotainment system. The system is equipped with all of Bluetooth, smartphone mirroring,
navigation, and other media capabilities. More changes include a revised centre console with a new gear selector. The AC vents on the updated sedan reside under the infotainment system. Moreover, the HVAC controls are also now digital in nature.
While much of the mechanical information about the 2020 Kia Cadenza remains untold, the executive sedan is said to come with a 2.5-litre inline-four and a 3.0-litre six-pot motor. A hybrid trim will also be available.
Power and performance figures of any of the powertrains remain a mystery for now. Being the homeland of Kia, South Korea will get the 2020 Cadenza before anyone else in the world. The refreshed executive sedan shall than make its way to other markets around the globe slowly and steadily. Let’s see if Kia Philippines brings the all-new Cadenza to the country or not.
