Auto China 2024: BAIC showcases BJ30 SUV

MANILA: Beijing Automotive Group Company (BAIC) has displayed the BJ30 sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the recently-concluded Auto China 2024.

According to the Chinese carmaker, the BAIC BJ30 — which kicked off its pre-sale in the event — is equipped with a 1.5-liter electric drive engine paired with a segment-unique front and rear dual-drive motor setup.

Performance figures range from an acceleration time of six seconds from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour and a fuel consumption of 6.45 liters per 100 kilometers. It also said to have a responsive four-wheel-drive system that allows seamless switching between two-wheel and four-wheel drive modes.

The BAIC BJ30 is priced in China at RMB 119,900 or P953,083.

BAIC also debuted the BJ60 electric and all-new BJ40 electric. In addition, it displayed the ARCFOX S5 electric sedan and the STELATO S9, which was co-developed by smartphone brand Huawei.

“With ‘craftsmanship’ as the standard for technological innovation, BAIC Group leverages smarter, more energy-efficient, and safer technological advancements to drive quality improvements, achieving quality equality and allowing consumers to enjoy ‘value for money’,” BAIC wrote in a press release.
