  • About BAIC Philippines

    BAIC came into existence in 1958 and is European in design and quality. This is because BAIC is partly owned by Daimler AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes Benz vehicles. In the Philippines, BAIC (Bayan Automotive Industries Corporation) is a subsidiary of Universal Motors Corporation (UMC). The oldest Filipino distributor of vehicles. 

    With its Philippine launch which coincided with the 5th CAMPI Philippine International Motor Show last September 2014, Bayan Automotive Industries Corporation (BAIC) is the country’s newest kid on the automotive block while showing potential to change the game from hereon. The brand is officially distributed by the Universal Motors Corporation (UMC) where its cars can be viewed at 2232 Don Chino Roces (Pasong Tamo) in Makati.

    Known in China as the Beijing Automotive Industry Holdings Co. (BAIC), it is already one of the fastest-rising motoring icons propelling China to new heights by creating partnerships with well-established brands overseas. While providing manpower in building the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and some of Hyundai’s models for the Chinese market.

    Doing the initiative in igniting BAIC’s automotive passion here in the Philippines, it exhibits excellence in Italian design, German engineering, and Chinese manufacturing among its cars. It initially offers five units for the Philippine market ranging from compact sedans, executive saloon, compact MPV, and off-road utility vehicles. These units are the BJ5030 Full-Size Van, the smaller WeVan MZ40, the X424 SUV with off-roading capabilities, the luxurious A523 Senova Large Sedan, and the A113/A115 4-door hatchback.

    For 60 years, UMC distributes Nissan light utility vehicles (Patrol, Navara, Urvan) to the Nissan dealers. Currently, BAIC is offering 9 new car models in the Philippines. The BAIC BJ20, BAIC M50S, BAIC MZ45 are the most popular cars from BAIC in their respective car segments.
