Jetour T2 vs. the competition

The Jetour T2 has emerged as one of the most popular nameplates in the Chinese marque’s local lineup.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the price of the Jetour T2 Terrain in the Philippines?

In the Philippines, the Jetour T2 Terrain is priced at P2.598 million.
  • How much horsepower and torque can the Jetour T2 produce?

The Jetour T2 can produce up to 251 horsepower and 390 Newton-meters of torque.
  • To put it into perspective, the T2 has managed to contribute 32.01 percent of the marque’s overall output in 2024. Such a feat in sales further highlights how the T2 has managed to establish a strong desirability in the local market - an incredible accomplishment considering that it was unveiled only recently, in March 2024.

Much of the Jetour T2’s strength in terms of sales can be attributed to its wealth of features. However, it still has to face a good number of rivals in the Philippine setting. So, what are the alternatives to the T2? Let’s find out here after a short overview of what the Jetour nameplate has to offer.

    Jetour T2

Style-wise, the T2 is packaged as a striking-looking vehicle with angular proportions. Up front, the Jetour off-road-capable ride was fitted with a chunky front bumper, which is accentuated by a pair of large LED headlamp clusters and an expansive flat-topped bonnet.

From the side, the vehicle has chunky fender flares and angular character lines. Its rear end, meanwhile, has pronounced haunches, a square-shaped tailgate-mounted spare tire carrier, and a beefy rear bumper.

The T2's notable exterior components include roof rails, step boards, a power tailgate, and 20-inch wheels. It also boasts a ground clearance of 180 millimeters (mm), an approach angle of 28 degrees, and a departure angle of 30 degrees.

Here is a table showcasing the dimensions of the Jetour T2:

For its interior, the T2 boasts a roomy five-seater arrangement with seats clad in suede and leather and air-conditioning provided by an automatic climate control system. Additionally, the driver has access to power-adjustable seats, a push-to-start button, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an electronic parking brake, a drive mode selector, a 10.25-inch digital gauge, and plenty of cup holders.

On-board entertainment, meanwhile, is handled by a 15.6-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay. Sound, on the other hand, is outputted by a 12-piece Sony speaker system.

Other notable interior equipment available for the T2 includes, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Voice command
    • Type C USB ports
    • Wireless smartphone charging pad
    • Active noise reduction
    • Trunk storage box
    • Keyless entry

Like most modern sports utility vehicles (SUV), the T2 comes with a comprehensive safety kit. It also has a suite of advanced driver-assist systems, which includes forward collision warning, rear collision warning, traffic jam assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and advanced emergency braking - among others.

Propelling the Jetour T2 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The said mill is paired with a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch (DCT) gearbox, and it can produce up to 251 horsepower (hp) and 390 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque

Unlike most pick-up truck-based SUVs, which use a ladder frame chassis, the T2 rides on a unibody frame. Nevertheless, it has a four-wheel-drive system and a center and rear limited-slip differential (LSD).

    Final thoughts

There you have it, folks, the two closest rivals of the Jetour T2. Offered at nearly identical price points, all are off-road capable while still capable of providing a cushy ride on paved roads.

Each model, of course, will have its unique strengths and weaknesses. So, for serious buyers currently in the market for a five-seater off-roader, it would be a good idea to give each ride a test drive. Doing so, after all, will help you find which SUV is genuinely fit for you.
