GWM Tank 300

The layout of the dashboard and centre console of the GWM Tank 300 looks heavily inspired by the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The cabin has an all-black theme with leather upholstery. The interiors of the SUV look further attractive with the contrast textured finish over the dashboard and contrast silver accents at places.

The unique-looking, Nappa leather-wrapped, four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel of the GWM Tank 300 has a wide full-TFT cockpit behind it. This cockpit is a combination of dual 12.3-inch screens for the instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system placed side by side. Adding more resemblance to the G-Class is the presence of propeller-themed rounded AC vents on the corners of the dashboard and three similar vents placed in the centre console.

The lower centre console of the cabin of the GWM Tank 400 has switches for the dual-zone automatic climate control and the 9-speaker Infinity sound system. At the bottom of the centre console is a horizontal panel for the transmission lever and other control switches finished in silver. The additional premium features in the Tank 300 are LED ambient lighting, a cooled glove box, a sunroof, a wireless charger, paddle shifters, and a 220V power outlet.

As a true-blue 4x4 lifestyle off-roader, the GWM Tank 300 impresses with its traditional upright stance, squared-off design, and high-ground clearance. Inspired by the likes of other global SUVs, such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Jeep Wrangler, the GWM Tank 300 has an old-school vibe in its looks, which is further strengthened by the hump in the middle part of the bonnet and a wide rectangular fascia with rounded edges and gloss black surrounds.

The front fascia of the GWM Tank 300 features horizontal gloss black slats and a unique logo for the Tank 300 in the middle of the rounded headlamps positioned on the corners. The headlamps here have dual LED projectors and LED DRLs running between the headlamps while stretching outwards.

The GWM 300 has a blacked-out, rugged-looking front bumper with rounded fog lamps placed within rounded rectangular housings on its corners. This off-road bumper merges with the flared wheel arches that also have tough-looking cladding over them, which have tough-looking tyres with 17-inch black alloy wheels beneath the wheel arches. 

The GWM Tank 300 has a rectangular windscreen in the upper half and a large tailgate-mounted spare wheel with a dedicated gloss black semi-cover at the back. The SUV's rear hatch has vertically aligned tail lamps with LED inserts.

Where the GWM Tank 300 truly shines is in its potent hardware. The Tank 300 comes with a four-wheel drive system as standard, which is further accompanied by top-notch hardware and aids like an all-terrain mode selector, 17-inch all-terrain tyres, crawl control, and turn assist.

Adding more off-road worthiness to the GWM Tank 300 is its water-wading capacity of 700mm, ground clearance of 224mm, an approach angle of 33 degrees, and departure angle of 34 degrees. The GWM Tank 300 has a double wishbone setup at the front and a non-independent multi-link setup at the rear for its suspension.

Powering the GWM Tank 300 off-roader lifestyle SUV is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is available with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This turbo-petrol mill churns out a maximum power output of 220 PS and a maximum torque output of 380 Nm.

The GWM Tank 300 has a comprehensive set of safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors and cameras, and a set of ADAS features, including automatic emergency braking, lane centre keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control with intelligent cruise assist, lane keeping assist, and traffic jam assist.

With a tall and muscular stance combined with a unique neo-retro design and very capable off-roading hardware, the GWM Tank 300 makes a solid mark in the lifestyle off-roading SUV category.
