But what are the rivals of the GWM Tank 300 in the Philippine market? Let’s find out here, though before anything else, let us take a gander at what the model is offering to prospective buyers.
GWM Tank 300
Style-wise, the Tank 300 comes with a retro-flavored body with details hinting at its tough and capable nature. Specifically, it wears large and broad wheel arches, chunky front and rear bumpers, and a bulgy hood. The grille of the vehicle is moderately sized, but it evokes images of rugged and classic off-road rigs from yesteryears.
For its exterior equipment, the Tank 300 comes with the following:
- LED headlamps
- LED daytime running lamps
- LED taillights
- Fog lamps
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Automatic headlamp functionality
- 17-inch wheels
- Roof rails
- Underbody protection
With regard to its interior, the GWM model comes with a five-seater layout and a dashboard with a flat, utilitarian design. While it is logically arranged and practical, it boasts a lot of premium details, such as soft-touch surfaces, polished decorative pieces, and leather upholstery.

Other notable interior features of the Tank 300 include an electronic parking brake, a push-to-start button, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, power-adjustable front seats, a tilt and telescopic steering column, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 60:40 split-folding rear seat - among others.
On-board entertainment and navigation for the GWM ride are handled by a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a nine-piece Infinity sound speaker system and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

The Tank 300’s basic safety kit, on the other hand, consists of six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, a 360-degree-view camera, stability control, and traction control.
The aforementioned are reinforced by several advanced driver-assist systems, such as adaptive cruise control, roll movement intervention, secondary collision mitigation system, traffic sign recognition system, and lane-keep assist.
Under the hood of the GWM Tank 300 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 gasoline engine. It utilizes an eight-speed automatic transmission, and it can generate up to 217 horsepower (hp) and 380 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
Of course, the Tank 300 is underpinned by a ladder frame chassis and comes standard with a 4x4 drivetrain. Additionally, it gets front and rear locking differentials, several drive modes, and the “tank turn assist” feature.
