Jetour X70

The cabin layout of the Jetour X70 has a wide design, with a curved theme carried out for the dashboard. It looks fuss-free and has an all-black theme for its upholstery as standard. The Jetour X70 is one of the very few SUVs of its size, which come with a unique three-row configuration, making it a 5+2 seater SUV.

The T-themed three-spoke, flat-bottomed multi-functional steering in the cabin of the Jetour X70 has a full-TFT instrument console behind it, making the driver’s cockpit look modern. There is a huge touchscreen infotainment system in the middle of the centre console, which gets an inclined pad below it with touch-sensitive controls for various functions, including those for the dual-zone auto AC. There are slim-looking triangular vertical AC vents on the sides of the touchscreen.

All these elements are housed within a rounded hexagonal centre console. There is a waterfall-like panel starting from the lower centre console, which has a satin silver finish to it, and houses the transmission lever, push start-stop button, and controller knob for the infotainment system. Adding more sense of space to the cabin of the X70 is a large panoramic sunroof. While the X70 is a three-row SUV, the last row is suitable only for small kids. 

For a midsize SUV, the Jetour X70 is a smart-looking vehicle with a dose of modernity and freshness all over its exterior look. With a large footprint and trendy design highlights, it looks premium and every bit a vehicle designed for younger car buyers in consideration.

At the front, the Jetour X70 has an imposing trapezoidal grille, which has horizontal chrome slats and chrome surrounds. There are additional chrome strips that emerge from the upper edges of the grille and extend over the headlamp housings, which are rounded towards the corners. These housings come with LED projectors and daytime running LEDs on their inner sides. The front bumper looks muscular too, thanks to the large housings for the quad LED fog lamp setup. In the middle of the front bumper, there is a trapezoidal air dam with a gloss black skid plate below it.

The Jetour X70 has a sleek and sharp appearance when you view it from the side. There is a sharp crease that flows from the front fender to the edge of the tail lamp. The window waistline has a slightly inclined design, which rises towards the angular-looking rear quarter glass panels and has a chrome finish to it. Below the large rounded wheel arches, the Jetour X70 gets 17-inch multi-spoke machined alloy wheels.

The distinctiveness of the Jetour X70 is toned down at the back, with the rear profile having a less dramatic look to it. The boot lid looks relatively clean, with Jetour lettering spread over it. The horizontally-placed tail lamps with curved inner and outer edges have LED inserts within them. At the bottom of the rear bumper, the X70 has dual exhaust ports and a silver skid plate.

Engineered around a monocoque frame, the Jetour X70 has a suspension setup comprising of independent multi-link with stabilizer bars at both front and rear. With this setup on a slightly softer side, the Jetour X70 offers a comfortable and plush ride quality. The hydraulic power steering offers a nice weighted feel even at higher speeds.

The only engine option offered in the Jetour X70 is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is available with two transmission options – a 5-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 147 PS and a peak torque output of 230 Nm. The engine feels refined, but the power delivery can be inconsistent at times. Jetour claims a top speed of 185 kmph and a fuel efficiency of 13.51 kmpl for the X70.

The Jetour X70 is decently equipped with essential safety features like front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist and reverse parking sensors, and camera.

The Jetour X70 is a decent attempt in the midsize SUV category, with an appealing design inside-out, a refined and powerful petrol engine and a supple ride quality.
