The Jetour X50 was introduced to the Philippine market at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show with a price ranging from P888,000 to P1.088 million. It is Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated’s (JAPI) premier entry to the local subcompact crossover scene, where it contends against the likes of the MG ZS, Toyota Raize, Kia Sonet, and Chery Tiggo 2 Pro - among others. 

With such a lineup of strong competitors, the Chinese marque’s local arm provided the X50 with plenty of enticing characteristics. 

For starters, it uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that can produce up to 154 horsepower and 230 Newton-meters of torque. With the said output, the X50 counts as one of the peppier models in its class. 

Other notable mechanical features of the X50 include a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, a multi-link rear suspension system, front and rear disc brakes, and a drive mode selector. 

Of course, Jetour likewise made sure to provide the model with a striking exterior filled with amenities. It sports a prominent grille, a pair of sharp LED headlamp clusters, a set of two-tone 18-inch wheels, and a very shapely rear end.

One of the reasons the Jetour X50 came out as a strong contender in the local subcompact crossover segment is its abundance of onboard tech and creature comforts. 

For starters, the model’s dash houses a sizable 20.5-inch high-definition dual-screen setup. It scratches from the mid-point of the dashboard all the way towards the driver’s side, and it consists of a seamlessly linked central infotainment system and a fully digital gauge cluster. 

For the central screen, it provides Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Sound, meanwhile, is outputted into the cabin by a six-piece speaker system. The digital gauge, on the other hand, provides a colorful but clear interface, which effectively conveys vehicle-related information such as current speed, vehicle drive modes, and revolutions per minute - among others.

Most notably, it comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a drive mode selector, a push-to-start button, and cruise control. Other models in the subcompact segment have the said features, but the X50 is one of the few in its price point to have a keyless starting system. 

Likewise, making daily driving easier aboard the Jetour ride is an electronic parking brake with autohold, a tilt-adjustable steering column, and a keyless entry system. Front boneless windshield wipers and a rear window wiper likewise ensure visibility. 

Parking the Jetour-made vehicle is also made effortless thanks to the addition of a 360-degree panoramic camera, which can be toggled and manipulated via the central display. It also comes with reverse parking sensors and a dynamic assist line for the rearview camera. 

Competent safety kit

Like its competitors, the X50 comes with a comprehensive basic safety kit. It features anti-lock braking, stability control, electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, and dual front airbags. 

In addition to the aforementioned, the model likewise comes with a suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), which includes the following:

Final thoughts

Overall, the Jetour X50 presents good value for the money. It has a competent safety kit, which is backed up by an ADAS suite, and it has a lot of creature comforts to boot. Plus, it sports a huge touchscreen head unit, which will no doubt delight car buyers who rely on tech on their daily drives. 

On top of all the said qualities of the X50’s interior, it also counts as a peppy ride. Sure, it isn’t the most powerful crossover one can buy right now, but within its price range, it sits rather high on the totem pole when it comes to performance.
