GAC to launch GS4 Max HEV soon

MANILA: GAC Philippines will launch the GS4 Max HEV crossover.

The local wing of the Chinese carmaker has sent an invitation to Zigwheels Philippines, dated in the latter part of the month.

Its arrival not only bolsters the brand’s offerings, but also fortifies its stance as a new-energy vehicle marque after it recently launched three multi-purpose vehicles — two of which were hybrids. 

Those who are interested need not wonder what it offers. The nameplate has received regulatory approval from the Department of Energy, which linked data specifications for the GAC GS4 Max HEV.

On that note, here is what one gets with the upcoming crossover.

Hybrid powertrain

Powering the GAC GS4 Max HEV is a 2.0-liter engine with an electric motor and a 2.1 kilowatt-hour ternary lithium-ion battery. With its two-speed dedicated transmission, it generates a maximum of 232 horsepower with torque that peaks at 300 Newton-meters to the front wheels. 

With a fuel economy of 20.83 kilometers per liter, the upcoming crossover offers a combined range of 1,250 kilometers with a full tank of gas.

Exterior

Apparently, the GAC GS4 Max HEV is close to the size of the Honda CR-V.

Overall dimensions show an overall length of 4,685 millimeters (mm), overall width of 1,901 mm, and overall height of 1,690 mm (Honda CR-V 4,691 mm x 1,866 mm x 1,691 mm).  

Exterior appointments include LED illumination, automatic headlights, electric hidden door handles, power-folding side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and wheel sizes measuring 18 to 19 inches in diameter.

It also has an electric tailgate for added convenience.

Interior

The cabin of the GAC GS4 Max HEV will come equipped with a panoramic glass roof, automatic air conditioning, multi-functional steering wheel, synthetic leather upholstery, power windows, and various charging ports. 

Tech-wise, it gets a seven-inch instrument panel, a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a wireless charger, and multiple speakers.
