GAC Int'l PH launches GN6, E8 HEV, GN8 PHEV

MANILA: GAC International Philippines has officially launched its latest trio of multi-purpose vehicles (MPV). These are the all-new GN6, E8 hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), and GN8 Exclusive plug-in hybrid executive vehicle (PHEV)

    With these newly introduced models, GAC has expanded its presence in the local MPV market. This comes in light of the brand’s global milestone of surpassing 30 million cumulative vehicles in production, as of July 2026. 

    GAC GN6

    For its engine, the GAC GN6 uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline mill. Power is sent to its front wheels via a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch (DCT) transmission. At maximum, the said engine can put out 174 horsepower (hp) and 270 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque

    Appearance-wise, the GAC GN6 gets a huge front grille with vertical slats, a decent amount of character lines all around, mixed in with an elegant take on the MPV body. Some of its notable exterior equipment include LED lighting fixtures, automatic headlamp functionality, power-adjustable side mirrors, and a set of 17-inch wheels. 

    Inside the model is a three-row layout equipped with a dual-zone air-conditioning system, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a power sunroof. 

    Its displays, meanwhile, consist of a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a six-piece speaker set, a 12-volt accessory outlet, and USB ports.

    The GN6 comes with a full complement of passive safety equipment that goes together with a suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS). These include: 

    • Adaptive cruise control
    • Traffic jam assist
    • Automatic emergency braking
    • Forward collision warning
    • High beam assist
    • Lane keep assist
    • Lane departure warning
    • 360-degree panoramic view camera

    Pricing for the GAC GN6 starts at P1.198 million, but it is offered with an introductory price of P1.128 million.

    GAC E8 HEV 

    In the middle of the newly introduced GAC MPV trio is the E8 HEV. Price-wise, its GL trim retails at P1.858 million while the top-spec GX is priced at P1.998 million. Within the introductory period, the GL and GX are offered with a price of P1.778 million and P1.918 million, respectively.

    Propelling the GAC E8 HEV is a 2.0-liter Atkinson Cycle gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. Like the GN6, the E8 HEV is also front-wheel-drive (FWD), but it instead uses a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). 

    At maximum, the GAC E8 HEV’s electric motor has an output of 179 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Its combustion engine, meanwhile, puts out 138 hp and 180 Nm of torque.

    Inside the GAC E8 HEV is a three-row layout with second-row zero-gravity seats with power adjustability and ventilation/massage functionality, power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, and a 60:40 split-folding third row with a fold-flat function and a “Tea Break” mode. 

    Likewise catering to all occupants of the GAC E8 HEV is a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a remote-controlled sunroof, a power tailgate, and dual sliding doors with power sliding.

    The model’s displays, meanwhile, consist of an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also present is a wireless smartphone charging pad, an eight-piece speaker set, and a soundstage/sound effects adjustment capability - among others. 

    Safety-wise, the GAC E8 HEV comes with the same ADAS suite as the GN6. 

    GAC GN8 Executive PHEV

    The largest and most expensive in GAC International Philippines’ latest MPV lineup is the GN8 Executive PHEV. The model commands a price tag of P3.488 million. The model likewise has an introductory price of P3.338 million.

    Under the hood of the GAC GN8 Executive PHEV is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that is linked to a single permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and a 25.5 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium iron phosphate battery.

    Power is sent to its front wheels by a two-speed DHT. At maximum, this PHEV MPV can generate a combined output of 373 hp and 630 Nm of torque. 

    As a PHEV, the GAC GN8 Executive PHEV comes with an alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) port. It also has a regenerative braking system and an intelligent drive-mode selector with multiple energy modes. Meanwhile, it provides an electric-only range of 120 kilometers (km) and a combined range of 1,038 km, according to the New European Driving Cycle. 

    Topping up the GAC GN8 Executive PHEV can be done quickly (30-80 percent SOC) in just 45 minutes when using its DC fast charging port.

    The GAC GN8 Executive PHEV is the largest model among the trio, and it gets a large grille that is paired with equally sizeable inverted L-shaped LED lighting fixtures. Its other noteworthy exterior amenities include a sectioned panoramic sunroof, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors, an induction power tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, and power-sliding side doors. 

    Inside this huge seven-seater MPV is the GAC “Master Interior,” indicating that it comes with high-quality materials such as premium Nappa leather upholstery, an advanced cockpit, and loads of creature comforts.

    For its front cabin, it gets power-adjustable driver and front passenger seats with heating, ventilation, and a memory function. The one piloting the MPV, on the other hand, has access to a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. 

    Everyone inside the model is kept comfortable by a triple-zone automatic climate control system, a Fragrance system, and a multi-color intelligent ambient lighting system. Specific to the second row is a pair of captain seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functionality. Also present are second-row tray tables, luminous welcome pedals, cooled or heated armrest cup holders, and sunshades. The third row then comes with a 60:40 split-folding function. 

    Handling on-board entertainment and navigation for the GAC GN8 PHEV Executive is a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sound is output by a 16-piece speaker set, while topping up devices is done via Type-C USB ports, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and a 12-volt accessory outlet.

    Safety-wise, the model has all of the ADAS components present on the two smaller GAC MPVs. Otherwise, the GN8 PHEV Executive adds to those with the Fusion Automatic Parking Assist, a Streaming-Video Inner rearview mirror, and Active Vehicle Dynamic Control.
