B30e Dune drives BAIC PH YTD sales

MANILA: The sales of BAIC Philippines — under the stewardship of United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated — for 2026 are led by the B30e Dune.

Per the local wing of the Chinese sport utility vehicle (SUV) manufacturer, although no specific dates were disclosed, the nameplate took some 69 percent of the company’s total turnout this year so far.

According to the brand, its dominance is credited to the BAIC B30e Dune’s ability to deliver everything consumers genuinely want, seamlessly integrated into one intelligent vehicle. 

“Filipino drivers are tired of choosing between raw power and practical efficiency. The BAIC B30e Dune 4x4 is proving they don't have to,” BAIC Philippines wrote in a press release.

“Priced competitively at just P1.888 million, the B30e Dune 4x4 seamlessly combines genuine raw performance with exceptional practical efficiency in ways that competing manufacturers consistently struggle to match,” it added.

To better understand BAIC Philippines’ point, here are some of the notable features of the B30e Dune:

Hybrid powertrain

Propulsion for the BAIC B30e Dune comes from a 1.5-liter hybrid system paired with an advanced two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.

In unison, the said setup makes 403 horsepower and 685 Newton-meters of torque. 

When it comes to performance, the SUV’s electrified powertrain allows it to zoom from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.59 seconds with Launch Control. Despite its heft, power, and the complexity of a 4x4 drivetrain, BAIC Philippines noted that customers can still achieve a fuel efficiency of 34.9 kilometers per liter.

Further, the marque noted that due to the unpredictable nature of Philippine roads, the manufacturer highlighted the vehicle’s intelligent and adaptive 4x4 system, which can be useful in navigating flooded streets during punishing monsoon seasons, uneven provincial terrain on spontaneous weekend trips, coastal sandy environments during beach getaways, and steep challenging mountain passes.

Onboard tech

Speaking of intelligent features, the BAIC B30e Dune is packed with technology that enables smart and convenient mobility.

The driver, for example, is faced with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that keeps essential driving data visible, legible, and accessible. It is paired with a 14.6-inch infotainment screen display that serves as a monitor of sorts for the SUV’s many features, on top of keeping the driver and passengers entertained during short and long drives. 

Other niceties come in the form of ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 540-degree camera system, a motorized tailgate, and a rear cargo power outlet.

Safety-wise, the BAIC B30e Dune gets Level 2 advanced driver-assist technologies with six airbags. The former includes features like adaptive cruise control, intelligent lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, and intelligent braking.

Shift to electrified mobility 

BAIC Philippines also notes that the sales contributed by the BAIC B30e Dune can be attributed to the observable shift (to electrified models), car buyers are making.

It shared that approximately seven out of 10 BAIC cars sold are B30e Dune. 

“The B30e Dune’s dominant performance within BAIC’s portfolio reveals something genuinely important about the evolving Philippine market: buyers are increasingly ready for sophisticated vehicles that resolutely refuse to compromise. They demand raw power and exceptional efficiency,” the company wrote.

“The surging consumer preference for the B30e, which now represents nearly seven out of every 10 BAIC sales, isn’t simply validating BAIC’s forward-thinking hybrid strategy. It’s definitely proving that Filipino motorists increasingly understand what comprehensive, thoughtful vehicle design truly looks like. And they’re enthusiastically choosing the B30e Dune at rates that position it as the brand's undisputed flagship,” it concluded.
