CALAX Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange Now 91% Complete

MANILA: The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is now 91% complete and is expected to be open to motorists in September.

The construction of the toll plaza, the pouring of concrete for the main line and median barriers, as well as various finishing works, are still ongoing. The upcoming phases will focus on the installation of toll facilities, such as road lighting, signage, and sound barriers. The management is also working to have the toll collection system ready.

The upcoming exit of CALAX will also give easier access to cafes and restaurants such as Cafe Agapita and Salakot Cafe, wellness and staycation spots such as Ilog Maria Bee Farm and La VeryOl’s Mountain View Garden, and shopping centers such as Acienda Designer Outlet.

The CALAX Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange is anticipated to serve an additional 5,000 motorists per day.

CALAX will be expanded to 45 kilometers by 2024. The expressway will have eight interchanges: Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor's Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit Interchange. It will be connected to the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) in Kawit. Its current operating segments extend from Mamplasan Rotunda to Silang East Interchange.
