Per DOE, the country has 50.94 days' worth of fuel supply as of March 27, 2026.DOE Secretary Atty. Sharon Garin reported through an online press conference that 1.042 million barrels have already been ordered and are expected to arrive in April this year. Previously, 142,000 barrels had already arrived from Japan on March 26, 2026.
Furthermore, the DOE secretary assured that “we have supply.” This statement was backed by her presentation of the country’s petroleum product inventory measured by “days supply,” as of March 27, 2026. The same table also shows the average national daily demand for each fuel type in thousands of liters.

“Even though we have time to look for additional supply, we would like to remind the public that we need to be prudent,” Garin said.
“It is more for [being> extra careful, because we do not know where the war is going,” Garin added further.
Additionally, the DOE is evaluating the increased usage of biofuels to help extend the nation’s supply for both the transport and power generation sectors. The agency is also monitoring fuel discount programs and is actively cooperating with oil companies.
