GAC Aion opens dealership in Iloilo

MANILA: GAC Aion has secured a spot in Iloilo City, where it will soon build an electric vehicle (EV) dealership.

Per the local subsidiary of the Chinese electric car manufacturer, it has inked its agreement with Angs Automotive Incorporated, which will be its partner in operating the new Iloilo facility.

Present during the contract signing ceremony were Willy Nan Guo of GAC Aion Philippines — under Dangdang New Energy Auto Service Limited Corporation — and Ton Ton Ang of GAC Aion Iloilo (Angs Automotive Incorporated).

“Today’s signing signifies our commitment to expanding our footprint across the country and supporting the transition to a cleaner, greener Philippines,” Guo said.

“We’re thrilled to partner with GAC Aion Iloilo and are confident that this collaboration will further drive the growth of electric mobility in the region,” he added.

The said collaboration between the two companies is expected to accelerate the adoption of EVs in the Philippines and aligns with GAC Aion’s long-term strategy to support the country’s environmental goals by making EVs more accessible to local consumers.

“As Iloilo becomes receptive to EVs, this partnership represents a timely and exciting opportunity. We are honored to bring GAC Aion’s advanced EV technology to the region, offering our customers sustainable transportation options without compromising on performance or style,” Ang noted.

To note, GAC Aion has two available models in the country, which are the Y and ES.
