    Aion Y

One of the models comprising the marque’s initial lineup for the Philippines is the Y five-seater compact crossover.

Size-wise, it is 4,535-millimeters (mm) long, 1,870-mm wide, and 1,650-mm in height. Its wheelbase spans 2,750-mm.

Providing the five-seater ride with a sharp modern appearance is its pair of “Angel Wing” LED headlamp clusters. Per its name, the said LED fixtures bear a wing-like appearance that flows down towards the lower sections of the vehicle’s front fascia. It also has a sharp-cornered nose, as well as a sizable lower intake vent.

From the side, the vehicle has a combination of silver and black-colored claddings. It also has tall windows, a set of subtle character lines, and flush door handles. Additionally, the top of the vehicle has a pair of roof rails and a sunroof.

The rear of the ride, meanwhile, sports a sleeker profile, which received an LED taillight bar, a roof-mounted spoiler, and more silver-colored trim pieces.

Inside, the model has a wealth of soft-touch surfaces and plenty of tech features. For starters, its dashboard is dominated by a 14.6-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster.

The sound output of the Y’s infotainment system is done through a six-piece speaker system. Smartphone connectivity, on the other hand, is done through Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and a USB port.

A dual-zone automatic climate control system, ambient lighting, power-adjustable front seats, and leather upholstery provide more comfort for its occupants. The driver, on the other hand, also gets a push-to-start button, a drive mode selector, an electronic parking brake, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Safety-wise, the all-new, fully electric Y was kitted out with what one would expect from a modern crossover. It has anti-lock braking, front and side airbags, side curtain airbags, traction control, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a 360-degree view camera, stability control, and hill-hold control, among others.

The said bits are reinforced by advanced driver-assist systems, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, traffic-jam assist, and lane departure warning, among others.

Propelling the Aion Y is an electronic motor paired with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery. At maximum, the said system can output 201 horsepower (hp) and 225 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It also has a range of 490 kilometers (km), as indicated by the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). It can, however, also recover range via its regenerative braking system.

Pricing for the AIon Y starts at P1.498 million for the entry-level Elite variant. The top-spec Premium, meanwhile, retails at P1.698 million.

    Aion ES

The second, smaller model that joined Aion’s initial local lineup is the ES sedan.

Size-wise, the all-new five-seater four-door sedan is 4,810-mm long, 1,880-mm wide, and 1,545-mm in height. Its wheelbase also has a length of 2,750-mm.

Other exterior amenities present on the ES include a power tailgate, power-adjustable side mirrors, automatic headlamp functionality, and rear LED fog lamps. Additional eye candy for the sedan may likewise come from its 17-inch alloy wheelset.

The interior of the ES, meanwhile, features a streamlined dashboard dominated by an eight-inch infotainment screen. Connection to smartphones for the said screen can be done via Bluetooth, and it also uses a four-piece speaker system.
