Geely PH, NLEX Corp. to help tourism through 'Lakbay Norte'

MANILA: The local distributor of Geely, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), and North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation will reintroduce the "NLEX Lakbay Norte" tour this November. 

The NLEX Lakbay Norte tour aims to help the pandemic-hit tourism industry, as the SGAP and NLEX Corp. will tour the media to destinations in North and Central Luzon, SGAP described.

"This November, NLEX Lakbay Norte goes to Pampanga, the home of culinary and gastronomic delights coupled with fun-filled adventure and cultural finds," SGAP announced in a release. 

“We are happy with the partnership with Geely as we both strive to provide safe and convenient travel to the public, as well as support economic recovery through tourism,” NLEX Corporation President and General Manager Luigi L. Bautista said. 

 

The NLEX Lakbay Norte also coincides with the "more relaxed travel restrictions and more people getting fully vaccinated," the Geely distributor added in the release.  

"Geely has been putting a high premium on safety for its vehicles. We’ve always been vocal about equating value with safety by putting in our minds the drivers and passengers in every vehicle we introduce to the market. We want to give them peace of mind in every Geely drive,” SGAP President and CEO Yosuke Nishi expressed. 

The NLEX Corporation handles the development, construction, and management of toll road projects. It is the builder, concessionaire, and operator of two major expressways that link Metro Manila to North and Central Luzon: the NLEX and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

The tollway company also holds the concession for the NLEX Connector, an eight-kilometer elevated highway built along the Philippine National Railway, extending the NLEX southbound from the NLEX Harbor Link Segment-Caloocan Interchange along C3/5th Avenue, Caloocan City, to Sta. Mesa, Manila.
