MANILA: Alongside the next-generation Palisade Hybrid, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) also introduced the all-new Ioniq 9, as well as the updated Ioniq 5

    Hyundai Ioniq 9

    Appearance-wise, the all-new Hyundai Ioniq 9 boasts a large frame combined with aerodynamic lines and corners. The aforementioned are complemented by “cube projection LED headlamps,” a slick-looking LED daytime running light bar, and a mostly smooth but eye-catching front fascia.

    Towards the sides, the model gets a decent amount of character lines, coupled with prominent rear haunches. It appears hefty, but its stubby digital side mirrors and its flush door handles further hone in on the vehicle’s aerodynamic nature. Its rear section is also quietly elegant, though it gets a pair of attention-grabbing vertical LED taillight clusters. 

    In addition, the exterior of the all-new Ioniq 9 was equipped with exterior lighting for door handles, rain-sensing wipers, fog lamps, automatic headlamp functionality, power tailgate, panoramic sunroof, power-folding side mirrors, and a set of 21-inch alloy wheels - among others.

    Size-wise, the all-electric full-size SUV is 5,060 millimeters (mm) long, 1,980 mm wide, and 1,790 mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 3,130 mm, and a ground clearance of 174 mm. 

    Inside the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is a six-seater, three-row configuration with first and second row power Relaxation seats with heating and ventilation, a 50:50-split folding third row, leather upholstery, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system. 

    On-board entertainment for the all-electric model is provided by a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The driver, meanwhile, has access to a similarly-sized digital gauge cluster.

    Other notable interior amenities of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Safety-wise, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 comes with what you’d expect from a modern SUV. Its basic kit, however, is further reinforced by several advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) such as smart cruise control, forward collision avoidance, lane following assist, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, reverse parking collision avoidance assist, and a 360-degree view monitor, among others.

    Propelling the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with a 110.3 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery. At maximum, it can produce up to 303 horsepower (hp) and 605 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It also features all-wheel drive, vehicle-to-load capabilities, and an electric cruising range of 600 kilometers.

    Also introduced to the Philippine market is the refreshed Hyundai Ioniq 5 crossover. It now boasts a revamped exterior design featuring a “more modern and aerodynamic profile.”

    New to the model’s exterior is a rear wiper and digital side mirrors. Added safety features for the nameplate are likewise provided by the South Korean car maker’s SmartSense ADAS suite, similar to the one found on the Ioniq 9 and the next-generation Palisade. 

    For its powertrain, the refreshed version now boasts an 84 kWh battery pack, resulting in an increased range of 530 kilometers. Its top-spec GLS Long Range version also boasts a beefed-up output of 225 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Its torque value remains the same, but do note that the pre-facelifted version can produce 214 hp.

    Pricing for the all-new Hyundai Ioniq 9 is set at P4.58 million. The updated Hyundai Ioniq 5, on the other hand, carries a price tag ranging from P2.84 million-P3.698 million across three variants. 

    Each purchase of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also comes with a five-year, or 200,000 km, whichever comes first, warranty. Its high-voltage battery is likewise covered by an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty.
