JAC to roll out JS6 PHEV

MANILA: JAC Motors Philippines will roll out the plug-in hybrid version of its JS6 crossover. 

Homologation papers from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) confirmed the forthcoming arrival of the model. 

Per the agency’s approved documentation, the JAC JS6 PHEV will be fitted with a four-pot, 1.5-liter gasoline engine with hybrid technology that uses a lithium-ion battery. 

The powertrain specifications — as suggested by the paperwork — state that the new-energy crossover will produce the following figures: 

Electric motor maximum power output (in horsepower)	201
Maximum speed (in kilometers per hour)	178
Maximum range (in kilometers)	120
Charging time (in hours)	7

In addition, the JAC JS6 PHEV will have the below measurements: 

• Overall dimensions: (length, width, height; in millimeters [mm>): 4,605 x 1,700 x 1,890
• Wheelbase (in mm): 2,720
• Ground clearance (in mm): 160 

It will wear 19-inch wheels with 235/50 series tires. 

According to LTO, the JAC JS6 PHEV is qualified for the incentives provided for hybrid vehicles under Republic Act Number 11679 or the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act. 

To recall, Zigwheels Philippines reported sometime ago that the JAC JS6 PHEV — alongside the JS8 Pro’s PHEV version — was presented to the attendees of last year’s Auto Guangzhou. 

Another nameplate we’re excited to see is the JAC RF8 PHEV, which is set to compete in the new-energy vehicle multi-purpose vehicle segment.
