JAC JS2 Pro

Inside, the JAC JS2 Pro’s cabin is a nice place to be in. Similar to its exterior design, its interior also looks and feels premium for an entry-level crossover. It has a nice balance of high-tech touch features and physical controls. Its cockpit provides drivers with a multifunctional steering wheel and analog gauge clusters inside the instrument screen with a dimmer switch. For entertainment and information accessibility, this crossover comes with a 9-inch floating central infotainment touch screen that offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth Handsfree Phone system, Radio, and an MP5 player. 

In terms of comfort and functionality, its leather seats provide good support and ergonomics for all passengers. However, its second row lacks adequate space to effectively accommodate three passengers due to a big tunnel in the middle. You’ll also get front and rear USB ports, a front 12V power outlet, and front and rear central armrests. Ultimately, the JAC JS2 Pro is pretty well-packed inside for its price point.

From the outside, the JAC JS2 Pro showcases a premium-looking design, which exudes a mix of sportiness and elegance on the road. It flaunts the new JAC logo on its smooth front fascia, proudly showing its identity to the people around it. Underneath its fascia is a unique-looking black grille with a diamond-like pattern. At night, it has an ethereal flare courtesy of its LED headlamps with DRLs as well as fog lamps. Its side view shows a nice color contrast enhanced by two-toned door mirrors, black window trims, and black wheel arches. 

Aside from these, it looks really futuristic from behind. It has a sleek rear light bar and fog lamps as well. It also has a flush handle for its trunk. For additional storage and practicality, it comes with roof racks on top.

The JAC JS2 Pro measures 4,149 mm in length, 1,750 mm in width, and 1,566 mm in height. It has a 2,490 mm wheelbase and a 160 mm minimum ground clearance. It runs on a dynamic-looking set of 16-inch aluminum wheels.

In terms of suspension, the JAC JS2 Pro utilizes a McPherson independent suspension at the front and a Torsion Beam semi-independent suspension at the rear. This suspension setup enables the JS2 Pro to have nimble steering and maneuvering. Hence, you’ll be able to easily drive this in the Metro where traffic is very rampant on a daily basis. It feels light yet stable on the road. That said, this would make a comfortable and enjoyable ride for you and your family inside the city.

The JAC JS2 Pro is powered by a 1.5 VVT gasoline engine that has a maximum power output of 103 hp and a maximum torque of 137 Nm. It comes mated to a continuously variable transmission. 

One of the main flaws of this crossover is that its powertrain tends to struggle in terms of power delivery when the driver is cruising at high speeds. Its transmission can become sluggish at times. Its fuel economy could also use some improvement in the future. If you are a very spirited driver, then you might have to consider other options. 

But, to be fair, this crossover is tuned more for comfort than road performance. It has enough power and torque to get you from point A to point B in time and without feeling exhausted. 

For an entry-level crossover, the JAC JS2 Pro is equipped with multiple safety features, which includes a steering-activated lighting assistance, reversing parking video, engine immobilizer, dual front airbags, dual front side airbags, ISOFIX child safety seat anchors, 4 rear parking sensors, and cruise control. This crossover utilizes ventilated discs for front braking and regular discs for the parking brake. Its braking setup is equipped with an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, hydraulic brake assist, hill-start assist control, and a brake override system.

The JAC JS2 Pro definitely justifies its position as an ideal first car option among local consumers. For a crossover under the 1M mark, it is really well-packed, has good looks, and is reliable for everyday use.
