Jeep Compass achieves Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS

MANILA: The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the new Jeep Compass a Top Safety Pick rating for 2022.

The rating applies to models with LED projector or LED reflector headlamps when combined with high-beam assist.

In a statement, Jeep North America Vice President Jim Morrison said, “The new 2022 Jeep Compass demonstrates our steadfast commitment to customer satisfaction. The Compass blends exceptional active and passive safety features with legendary Jeep 4x4 capability. The result is outstanding value for our customers and their families.”

The SUV's Top Safety Pick rating was based on its performance in six IIHS crashworthiness tests, which covered three different types of frontal collisions. Other tests assessed behavior in a side impact, rear impact, and a rollover.

The 2022 Jeep Compass received the highest possible score in each category.

Moreover, the vehicle's automatic emergency braking technology, Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, was given the highest possible rating of “Superior,” while its Pedestrian/Cyclist Automatic Emergency Braking system was rated “Advanced.”

Both features are standard on the 2022 Jeep Compass and are developed to detect impending collisions and, in some circumstances, activate the vehicle's brakes automatically.

These are just a few of the more than 75 safety and security features available. Others include Active Lane Management and Rear Cross Path Detection.

Despite the challenges in the market, Compass sales in the US increased by 22% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2021.
