MPTC braces for Undas 2025, reactivates motorists’ assistance program

MANILA: With the expected surge in traffic on all its tollways, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) will reactivate its motorists’ assistance program for the upcoming All Saints’ Day.

Through “Biyaheng Arangkada,” the tollways infrastructure arm of the Manuel Pangilinan-led Metro Pacific Investments Corporation is eyeing to provide safe and convenient travel to users of the following expressways for the upcoming holiday:

• North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)
• Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway
• NLEX Connector
• Cavite-Laguna Expressway
• Manila–Cavite Expressway
• Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway

Among its initiatives are increased personnel deployment at the aforementioned thoroughfares, round-the-clock monitoring, and arrangement of quick-response teams. Per MPTC, around 2,000 individuals under its traffic, toll, and emergency departments will be on duty, in coordination with the Philippine National Police, local government units, and key agencies.

The company provide free towing for Class 1 and Class 1M (for CCLEX) vehicles to the nearest exit starting October 30 of 6 a.m. until November 3 same time.

Roadworks will be suspended from October 29 to November 3, except for emergency repairs.

Further, the firm shared that the NLEX Corporation has regraded shoulder lanes in key areas to support counterflow operations.

Motorists are advised to plan their trips ahead and avoid peak hours particularly during the following periods:

• Afternoon of October 29
• Afternoon of October 30 to evening of October 31
• Morning of November 1
• Afternoon of November 2
• Morning until noon of November 3

Motorists are also encouraged to ensure their vehicles are in good condition and their radio frequency identification accounts have sufficient loaded before traveling. To help them with hassle-free reloading, they suggest using the MPT DriveHub, which also gives real-time traffic updates.

As part of the MVP Group’s efforts, Maynilad will provide free bottled water, while Smart Communications is set to offer free Wi-Fi and charging stations in select areas.
