NLEX toll prices will increase starting June 15

MANILA: On June 15, 2023, new toll charges for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will go into effect.

The toll-fee increase for the NLEX Open System, which includes the Bulacan highways of Balintawak, Mindanao Avenue, Karuhatan, Valenzuela, and Meycauayan and Marilao, is P7 for Class 1 cars, P17 for Class 2 vehicles, and P19 for Class 3 vehicles. The toll price is now P69, P172, and P206, respectively, as a result of this.

The NLEX Closed System's toll-fee increase will be P26 for Class 1, P65 for Class 2, and P77 for Class 3 vehicles between Bocaue in Bulacan and Santa Ines in Mabalacat City, Pampanga. They must pay an extra P4 for Class 1, P8 for Class 2, and P11 for Class 3 at Subic-Tipo.

As a result, the cost of end-to-end expressway travel from Balintawak to Santa Ines has increased by P332 for Class 1 cars (up by P33), P829 for Class 2 vehicles (up by P81), and P995 for Class 3 vehicles (up by P98).

The Pasada Pass and Tsuper Card programs' public utility jeepney fares on the NLEX will remain unchanged.

According to the Toll Regulatory Board's (TRB) official statement, the periodic toll-rate adjustment requests submitted by the NLEX Corporation in 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2020 include the higher toll fees. In order to "help curb the current inflationary situation and cushion the impact on users of the expressway," the toll operator is permitted to collect the last tranche of the 2012 and 2014 adjustments as well as half of the provisionally approved adjustments for 2018 and 2020 this year
