Toyota PH presents contingent in upcoming GR GT Cup in Asia Finals

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced the winners of the 2023 Toyota Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo (TGR GT) Cup. 

According to the local automotive distributo , the winners of this year’s Sporting Class will head to the TGR GT Cup 2023 Asia Finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 24.

The winners of the said class are Russel Reyes, Matthew Ang, and Luis Moreno, respectively. 

Reyes finished second in last year’s Sporting Class while Ang landed second in last year’s Promotional Class. On the other hand, Moreno was the 2021 TGR GR Cup Champion. 

“We have a strong roster of racers this year,” shared TMP Vice President for Marketing Services Elvin Luciano. 

“This is the first time we are sending players overseas for the Asia Finals. Having watched Russel, Matthew, and Luis in the local and national rounds, we are confident that they will make us proud as Team Philippines,” he added. 

All Sporting Class participants duked it out in a three-race event, which featured three races, each with a different track and car.

The virtual race drivers took on Trial Mountain in the GR 86 for the first race, Sardegna – Rally Cross in the GR Yaris RZ for the second race, and Mount Panorama in the GR Supra Race Car ’19 for the third and final race.

TMP also revealed the winners for the TGR GT Cup Junior and Promotional Classes. 

The podium finishers for the Junior Class are David Enzo Ison, Russo Gabriel Formoso, and Vito Manas.

Meanwhile, the top three e-racers for the Promotional Class are Stanley Theodore Golez, Benedict Salido, and Jan Rene Aldiosa.
