Harley-Davidson unveils specimens for upcoming bikes

MANILA: Along with announcing the production of small-displacement 250cc to 500cc bikes for the developing competitive markets in Asia, Harley Davidson has made its future plans clear.

The American motorcycle company plans on introducing specimens for the brand new models as well as for the previous ones like LiveWire electric Motorcycle, a 975cc Streetfighter, the 1,250cc Pan America adventure tourer, and a future custom model. The company’s strategy “More roads to Harley Davidson” screams about its predetermined plans of achieving more by providing the riders with the latest and variety of motorbikes.

“We have typically been very conservative. This is very different for us to kind of just blow the doors off and tell you everything that we’re going to be doing over the next five years. It’s not just what we have done, but we are so excited about the direction we’re going and all the different things we are doing that we wanted to get this out into the marketplace right away,” says Michelle Kumbier, Harley Davidson Senior Vice President and COO, as the company, Harley Davidson plans to penetrate the modern competitive market.

The company also plans on launching a liquid-cooled 975cc Streetfighter motorbike with a defined sporty look. The Harley Davidson does not lack in experience of having manufactured sports bikes as it has worked with likings of Erik Buell, who eventually merged with the company. He was the one who founded H-D’s former subsidiary Buell Motorcycle Co. In the late ‘90s, the Harley Davidson VR10000 superbike was approved to be sold for AMA road racing by the support of Erik Buell only.

As of now, all the sample images by H-D show that the new bikes share the looks of a street tracker, scooter-esque mini bike, and also that of an electric bicycle.

H-D assures that by 2020 it will launch its new Pan America adventure touring bike, loaded with 1,250cc V-twin. And to make the ride more comfortable, the company will equip the bike with modern features. The company is focusing on their 2020 mission as they are sure their bike is going to turn heads. The company’s plan is to bring in a custom model that looks like the Street Rod but with a powerful 1,250cc V-twin mill.

Another shocking revelation that the company made was of investing in the LEV manufacturer Alta Motors to launch an updated version of the LiveWire electric concept by the following year. Not only this, the company has also claimed to launch more and more electric bikes. Let’s wait for the Harley Davidson to make their move.
