If the BAIC B40 Pro TrailMaster’s exterior appears rugged and aggressive, its interior layout is the exact opposite. Inside, you are greeted by a refined, classy-looking cabin that has an abundance of soft-touch materials and high-tech toys. In terms of comfort, you have plenty of room all around. Its well-padded microfiber leather seats also provide good cushioning and support even on longer trips off-road.

Upfront, all passengers can enjoy a 12.8-inch center control infotainment display that offers smartphone mirroring, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB. It is linked to a 10-speaker sound system with an amplifier for premium acoustics all around. From the outside, the BAIC B40 Pro TrailMaster slightly resembles the Ford Bronco. It also carries its American counterpart’s rugged, boxy architecture, which looks really assertive on the road. But, it still showcases its own unique design cues. At the front, it has a striking glare accentuated by a five-port LED light ring grille. For enhanced visibility at night, it also comes with LED DRLs and fog lights. It also has a chrome skid plate, which allows for better off-roading.

Black fenders, door mirrors and handles, as well as window trims give it a sporty, muscular side view. It also has a retractable stepboard for more convenience. It utilizes the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission system and a part-time all-wheel drivetrain. It comes equipped with BAIC’s 11 All-Terrain System Drive Modes, which include Comfort, I-Off-Road, Ice and Snow, Deep Snow, Off-Road, Sand, Mud, Rock, Wading, Sport, and Economy.

This off-roader has enough power and torque to make overtaking on free-flowing highways easy for the driver. It is not the fastest and most powerful in its segment, but it can run smoothly and effortlessly in the city and out on the open road. Its fuel economy is also pretty decent, making it a feasible daily commuter. Additionally, the cabin remains quiet and quite peaceful thanks to its good NVH suppression system.

The BAIC B40 Pro TrailMaster is equipped with a long list of advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, intelligent high beam control, blind spot monitoring system, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, rear collision warning and braking, and a smart dodge among others. It also comes with many safety and security features. 

In terms of braking, this SUV utilizes ventilated discs for both the front and rear. It is supported by an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control system, electronic stability control, and a brake assist.
