Nissan Patrol Interior & Features

The cabin of the Nissan Patrol 2023 borders more on the traditional side. In terms of interior design, the car hasn't progressed much in to 2023. The materials used are mostly good. The Nissan Patrol's interior does miss some basic modern features. But the cabin is a nice combination of soft plastic and leather. The car comes with plenty of storage spaces. These, in fact, outnumber most of the Patrol's competitors. There's a cool box fridge in the centre console. It can be accessed from the first and second row. There are two large cupholders. There's space behind the cupholders to keep the keys. Other storage spaces include a decently sized glove box, cubby behind the gear selector, and large door bins. The second row of the 2023 Nissan Patrol comes with more convenience features than the first. There are two infotainment screens that come with headphones and remote control, a centre armrest with cup holders, a third climate zone, an HDMI input port, three USB-A ports, door pockets and map pockets. The third row has four cupholders and its own air-conditioning vent. The seats are easy to fold. Access to the third-row seats from the second row is easy. The one-touch button folds and tumbles the second row forward.

Passenger and boot space

The 2023 Nissan Patrol has a huge cabin that's airy and spacious. The second-row seats are very comfortable and plush with more than enough space to accommodate three adults. The third row of seats is also reasonably spacious with enough legroom and headroom. Opening the powered tailgate reveals 467 liters of cargo space. The Nissan Patrol has one of the biggest boots in its class. With the third row dropped, the boot space increases to 1,413 liters. Folding the second row allows a massive cargo space of 2,623 liters.

Comfort and entertainment

The Nissan Patrol 2023 comes with a horizontally mounted 12.3-inch central touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth support with hands-free calling and audio streaming. Sound in output through a Bose 13-speaker audio system. There are two independent 8.0-inch touchscreen units for passengers on the second row offering personalized entertainment.

Patrol Exterior

The Nissan Patrol 2023 is one of the boldest and strongest-looking cars in the Philippines SUV segment. It looks aggressive from all angles. With a high ground clearance, the 2023 Nissan Patrol is able to negotiate all bumps and potholes with minimum effort. Exterior features include 20-inch alloy wheels with a full-sized spare, heated and power-folding exterior mirrors, automatic wipers, automatic all-round LED headlights with LED front fog lights, and keyless entry. The current shape of the Nissan Patrol wasn’t the most dynamic upon its release. However, it's a quite capable and a very comfortable car while travelling off-road. The facelift model has some design changes but that aren't drastic. The 2023 Nissan Patrol is mounted on fully independent suspensions at all four corners that lend more dependability during off-road driving. The suspension system makes the car exceptionally comfortable during highway rides. Uneven roads, speed bumps, and potholes are no problem for the Nissan Patrol 2023. The Nissan Patrol 2023 has a commanding road presence and stands tall above most other cars.

Q1) What are the dimensions of the Nissan Patrol 2003?

Nissan Patrol Mileage Running Cost

The Nissan Patrol 2023 isn't exactly a fuel-efficient car, given that it's huge in size and comes with an 8-cylinder engine. It has a claimed average fuel consumption of 14.4-liter/100km, which is expected for an almost three-ton vehicle. A mix of urban and highway driving returned an average fuel economy of 15.2-liter/100km. The Patrol comes with a 140-liter fuel tank that enables worry-free long-range driving

Patrol Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Nissan Patrol 2023 is equipped with a naturally-aspirated, 5.6-liter, 8-cylinder petrol engine which produces 400PS maximum power at 5,800rpm and 560Nm peak torque at 4,000rpm. The motor is paired with an all-wheel-drive 7-speed automatic transmission with a manual override system. Besides the impressive numbers, the powertrain is lovely to command. It's buttery smooth and never gasps for breath when more is asked of it. The power band is very linear and the car pulls hard when asked. The 7-speed automatic is seamlessly mated to the motor. Just like the engine, the transmission is silky smooth. Changing to a higher gear is barely felt during acceleration. The manual override comes very handy during off-road driving. The Nissan Patrol 2023 comes with a number of exterior features that allows easy off-road driving. These include high sidewall tires, a dual-range transfer case, a rear differential lock, hydraulic suspension, and drive mode selector (for sand, snow or rock). The car has 3,500kg and 750kg of braked and un-braked towing capacity respectively.

What are the color options available for the Nissan Patrol 2023?

To make long drives seamless, the 2023 Nissan Patrol is equipped with a lot of 'intelligent' equipment. These include cruise control, forward collision warning, lane intervention and high-beam assist. The car comes with hill-start assist and hill-descent control to negotiate mountainous terrains. The Nissan Patrol 2023 is yet to be tested by the ASEAN NCAP.

Patrol Verdict

Value for money

The Nissan Patrol has been on sale in various countries for many years and enjoys a legendary status in the full-sized SUV segment. It's among the top five full-sized SUVs sold in the Philippines. That aside, The Nissan Patrol has established its reputation as a rugged and dependable vehicle, irrespective of the terrain. In that way, it's a value for money product.  All-wheel-drive cars are rarely used on off-road surfaces. Even when they are, the Nissan Patrol never lets down.

Warranty

That aside, the company often comes up with extended warranty offers, where the service duration can be stretched up to seven years or 200,000km whichever is earlier. But the extended warranty is available only at the discretion of the manufacturer/dealer.

Are original spare parts of the Nissan Patrol 2023 available in Philippines?

Nissan Patrol 2023 vs Suzuki Jimny

The Suzuki Jimny is targeted more at customers who want an affordable SUV that comes with basic features. It has a starting price of ₱1.258 million compared to the Patrol's ₱4.698 million. In terms of performance, the Suzuki Jimny doesn't even come remotely close to the Nissan Patrol 2023. The Jimny is available in three versions, with the top-end model equipped with a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 100PS/130Nm. The Nissan Patrol, on the other hand, outputs 400PS/560Nm. The cabin of the Jimny has fabric upholstery while the Patrol's done in leather. The 2023 Nissan Patrol blends luxury with performance, while for the Jimny it's all about keeping things inexpensive.

Nissan Patrol 2023 vs Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

With a starting price of ₱3.63 million, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is less expensive than the 2023 Nissan Patrol. But the latter has more cabin space with comfortable third-row seating. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado comes with more exhaustive safety equipment, including nine airbags, while the Nissan Patrol has only six. The Land Cruiser Prado is a available in two engine options, a 4.0-liter petrol, and a 2.8-liter diesel. The car is available in four variants, allowing buyers more options. At a starting price of ₱7,702,888, it's more expensive than the Nissan Patrol. The top-end Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 4X4 AT is equipped with a 5.3-liter, 8-cylinder, petrol engine which produces 355PS/518Nm. The Chevrolet Tahoe is longer than the Nissan Patrol and comes with more cabin space. The boot space is also larger than the Patrol. Safety and driver-assist features of both cars are largely common.

Is the Nissan Patrol 2023 worth buying?

The Nissan Patrol 2023 is among the sturdiest and boldest cars in its segment. Hauled by a powerful petrol engine, the Patrol is one of the best all-wheel-drive vehicles available in the Philippines. Nissan has managed to strike a perfect blend of the functionality and premium bits with the Patrol SUV. Yes, it's also among the most expensive cars in the full-sized SUV segment. But the 2023 Nissan Patrol is definitely worth buying for long-term use. It has good road manners and handles well on city roads with a bit of practice. On long highways, the car drives like a dream vehicle. With one of the most comfortable cabins in its segment, the Nissan Patrol 2023 is worth the price it commands.
