Nissan Urvan Interior & Features
Like the exterior, the interior of the sixth-generation Nissan NV350 Urvan has also remained unchanged in its run spanning more than a decade. In all the versions, the NV350 Urvan features an all-black theme for the cabin, with the Premium version having contrast silver accents at some places and a few added comfort and convenience features.
The driver’s cockpit in all the versions of the Nissan NV350 Urvan features a three-spoke steering wheel, which gets silver accents in the Premium version and an analogue instrument console with an LCD MID in the middle in all the variants. The centre console and the dashboard corners of all the versions of the NV350 Urvan have rounded AC Vents, with a 2-DIN audio system in the middle of the AC vents in the centre console (1-DIN in cargo variants). All the versions of the Nissan NV350 Urvan also come with manual AC controls arranged vertically in the lower centre console in a separate housing, with the transmission lever placed to their left. All the variants of the Nissan NV350 Urvan also come with individual AC vents for all passengers for added comfort.
Urvan Exterior
The sixth-generation Nissan NV350 Urvan was first introduced in 2012, and in its more-than-a-decade life span, the van has received minimal changes in its design. Even today, the Nissan NV350 Urvan has a boxy design with a few angular-looking elements. While the overall design looks decent for its positioning as a people and goods carrier, it has now begun to look a bit dated and needs a significant upgrade.
In all of its versions, the Nissan NV350 Urvan comes with a steeply raked windscreen at the front, with the van getting trapezoidal headlamps on the lower edges. The grille in the middle of the headlamps has segmented L-shaped chrome inserts on the sides and a chrome bar above it, with the grille also having squared mesh inserts within it.
The Premium is the only version which gets body-coloured front and rear bumpers, rearview mirrors and door handles, which are otherwise unpainted in the other versions. The front bumper in the Nissan NV350 Urvan Premium version also gets fog lamps in the upper halves of the trapezoidal inserts in the corners of the front bumper. Also exclusive to the Premium version of the Nissan NV350 Urvan are wheel caps for the 15-inch steel wheels, a rear wiper and a taller profile for more headroom in the cabin.
Nissan Urvan Ride & Handling
The Nissan NV350 Urvan is also known for its comfortable ride quality, despite having a very functional suspension setup – a torsion bar with a stabilizer at the front and a rigid axle with leaf springs at the rear. The suspension setup is on a softer side, which makes ride quality over long journeys quite comfortable. However, the boxy design also brings in a slight body roll, which robs the driving experience a bit.
Urvan Engine & Fuel Consumption
The only engine option which powers all the variants is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is renowned as one of the most reliable Japanese diesel engines for passenger and goods carriers. This engine produces 129 PS of maximum power and 356 Nm of maximum torque and is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard on all the variants. However, this engine is also available with the option of a 5-speed automatic gearbox in the entry-level Van and Premium versions.
Nissan Urvan Braking & Safety
The Premium version of the Nissan NV350 Urvan is the best-equipped when it comes to safety features, with the van getting a decent number of features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, remote central locking, hill start assist, vehicle dynamic control, high beam assist and auto headlamps.
Urvan Verdict
Despite being more than a decade old, the Nissan NV350 Urvan is still going strong, particularly on its positive attributes like a reliable engine, comfortable ride quality and an image of being easy to drive and maintain.
