Honda Navi

In terms of dimensions, the Honda Navi measures 1,808 mm in length, 748 mm in width, 1,039 mm in overall height, and 762 mm in seat height. This scooter also has a wheelbase of 1,286 mm and a ground clearance of 148 mm.

The Navi showcases a sporty, minimalist design that exudes immense youthfulness wherever it goes. It features a classic-looking fascia flanked by a halogen headlamp and a pair of signal lights. The Adventure Style trim gets a front fairing and a sharp beak, while the Tourer Style is equipped with a windscreen that helps reduce fatigue caused by strong winds when traveling long distances. Owners of these trims are also given knuckle guards for added protection when touring or exploring light trails.

The rider has access to a user-friendly meter panel that displays an analogue tachometer, as well as the respective indicators for fuel, headlight’s high beam function, and turning lights. Additionally, its low seat height and mid low-rise handlebar with grips ensure that the average Filipino rider maintains a comfortable, natural riding position at all times. 

Its seat offers decent cushioning and support for both you and your passenger. This scooter also comes with a built-in grab bar and foot rests for your passenger. And, for convenience and practicality, this scooter comes with an integrated storage area for your personal belongings and other important documents.

This scooter’s side profile features a combination of elements finished in monotone shades, along with bright branding stickers that complement its sleek body paint. The Navi comes with sporty composite wheels (front: 12-inch, rear: 10-inch) wrapped in tubeless tyres. Its rear end also gives off a classic vibe, courtesy of its bulb-type tail light and another pair of turn signals.

In terms of suspension, the Honda Navi is equipped with a Telescopic Fork at the front and a Mono-Cushioned Swingarm at the rear. You can easily flick this scooter through tight traffic or crowded areas, thanks to its slim, compact frame. It is light to steer and very nimble to maneuver, making it an ideal ride in the densely-populated Metro Manila. It can also absorb small bumps and other minor road imperfections quite decently. That said, the Navi offers a comfortable and worry-free riding experience for both the rider and the pillion.

The Honda Navi is powered by a 109cc 4-stroke, 2-valve, SOHC, air-cooled engine that delivers a maximum power output of 5.89 kW (8 hp) and a maximum torque output of 8.91 Nm. This scooter comes mated to an automatic (V-Matic) transmission.

With this in mind, it has enough power and torque to get you from point A to point B on time and without spending too much money, thanks to Honda’s Eco Technology (HET). While its engine tends to struggle at higher speeds, its performance is just adequate for sensible everyday city riding. It delivers impressive fuel economy even in mixed conditions, offering a WMTC consumption of 48.4 kmpl. Still, this scooter can deliver a smooth and enjoyable riding experience for you and your passenger. 

In terms of braking, the Honda Navi comes with front and rear mechanical leading trailing drums. Its braking setup is supported by Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS). 

In my opinion, the Honda Navi offers a high value for money. It is novice-friendly, cost-effective to run, and quite versatile for its price. That said, it is an ideal first bike for both young commuters and budget-oriented professionals working in the city.
