Overview

To add in some sportiness and visual drama to its rather bare basic underbone vehicle lineup, Honda has introduced the Supra GTR 150. With its sleek and razor sharp design, the Honda Supra GTR 150 tries to woo the younger audience who usually shy from the rather utilitarian underbone bikes. The Honda Supra GTR 150 will set you back with a price of PHP 102,900, and has two colour options – Valiant Red and Black.

Design

Among all the basic underbone two-wheelers from Honda, the new Supra GTR 150 sits right at the top with its sleek and sharp design, which makes it look sporty and trendy for the young generation buyers.

The beaky front apron of the Honda Supra GTR 150 houses sleek turn indicators, with a small LED headlamp mounted on the handlebar cowl. The front apron has been designed in such a way that its sides resemble fangs, which make it look sharp.

The side extensions of the front fairing of the Honda Supra GTR 150 extend to the sides and footboard, which is partitioned like in all the other underbone bikes. Despite its compact dimensions, the footboard has been designed in such a way that it can accommodate a tall rider with ease.

The side profile of the Honda Supra GTR 150 has simple body panels, but then it manages to catch your attention with bold and sporty graphics. The seat might not look and feel wide, but is long enough to accommodate two adults. The multi-spoke alloy wheels too is a nice touch. The rear of the Honda Supra GTR 150 is a simple affair with a petite tail lamp and a conventional rear fender, along with a basic single piece pillion grab rail.

The rider’s cockpit of the Honda Supra GTR 150 too is something, which needs a special mention. While it doesn’t look big and huge, it does look modern with the presence of the fully digital instrument console and wide and ergonomically placed handlebar and rearview mirrors.

Ride & Handling

The Honda Supra GTR 150 has a strong underbone frame under its sleek design, which does get the assistance of telescopic forks at the front and a single-coil spring at the rear. The best part of the Supra GTR 150 is its lean bodywork, which in assistance to the light kerb weight and slightly stiff suspension setup, makes the Honda Supra GTR 150 a very fun to ride machine.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Honda Supra GTR 150 has a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 150cc engine under its skin, which is not an all-new motor as it has been already there in a couple of other Honda two-wheelers.

Here in the Supra GTR 150, the engine is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and produces a maximum power output of 15.9 PS and a peak torque output of 13.5 Nm. These figures do make the Honda Supra GTR 150 a fun bike to start with, considering its sleek bodywork and low curb weight.

What’s more promising about this engine is its decent fuel economy of 42 kmpl, which does make it practical and efficient for daily runabouts and commutes, despite it being a powerhouse. However, it does feel let down with its small fuel tank capacity of 4.5-litre, which gives it a very limited full tank range.

Braking & Safety

The Honda Supra GTR 150 comes equipped with a single-channel ABS, which makes it one of the safest underbone bikes in the market right now. The bike also gets the presence of a disc brake at the front and a disc brake at the rear as well.

Verdict

The Honda Supra GTR 150 has brought the words like’ premium’ and ‘sporty’ to the segment of underbone bikes, which was once perceived as a basic day-to-day machine with conventional roots. With bold styling, punchy performance from the potent 150cc engine and riding appeal, the Honda Supra GTR 150 tries to catch the fancy of youth minds.

Claude Jan 15, 2020 for Honda Supra GTR 150

Recently I have purchased Honda supra-gtr-150 and am delighted at my new bike’s overall performance and features. What fascinates me the most about this bike is its steel frame beneath the plastic structure? That ensures its standard quality and longevity. The sporty look of this bike is its signature style. Feature wise also this bike is indeed worth mentioning. LED Read More
