Kawasaki KX 250X Review 2024
Abhishek Katariya says
The Kawasaki KX250X is a quarter-litre off-road motocross bike, which has been designed purely for riding on off-road trails. With its slim and lightweight bodywork and well-tuned suspension and engine, the Kawasaki KX250X is a good off-road sports bike for beginners who wish to have more power over entry-level bikes. The Philippines two-wheeler market gets the Kawasaki KX250X in a single variant with a Lime Green colour option, just like in other markets where it is available.

Kawasaki KX 250X Design
The Kawasaki KX250X is designed and engineered for a purpose – to be an effortless motorcycle to ride with minimal bodywork. With this approach, the overall design of the motorcycle looks very functional, which has been designed purely for that purpose, and nothing else. The Kawasaki KX250X looks every bit like a functional motocross bike, with minimal body panels and features.
At the front, the Kawasaki KX250X has a wide panel in place of a traditional headlamp, which has tapered edges and creases at the bottom. The high-mounted front fender is huge and adds visual bulk to the motorcycle. The front forks of the Kawasaki KX250X have a golden finish for the upper half, while the lower half is blacked out.
The sense of minimalism is executed on the side profile too, with the Kawasaki KX250X having very few body panels, including around the tiny fuel tank and the seat. The panel surrounding the fuel tank has bold graphics, which partially hide the upper half of the engine and frame of the motorcycle. Here, the aluminium frame of the motorcycle and engine are finished in a theme of silver, with the Kawasaki KX250X having a high ground clearance to go with the theme of a motocross bike.
The panels below and beside the long and functional seat of the Kawasaki KX250X are painted in a lime green colour, with them flowing towards the back in a pointy manner. There is an additional wide panel over the side-mounted heightened exhaust pipe. As expected, the Kawasaki KX250X misses out on a functional tail lamp assembly, since it is not a road-legal motorcycle, and has been done to save weight. The knobby tyres on the spoked wheels look purposeful and give the KX250X a rugged look. The aluminium levers of the Kawasaki KX250X also look basic, and the motorcycle gets only an electric starter switch on the handlebar.
KX 250X Ride & Handling
The real deal of the Kawasaki KX250X is its suspension setup, with the motocross bike getting 48mm inverted telescopic forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping and 314mm travel at the front and the New Uni Trak with adjustable dual-range compression damping, adjustable rebound damping and adjustable preload with 316mm travel at the rear.
With so much scope of adjustability and long travel for both front and rear suspension, the Kawasaki KX250X is an extremely effortless motorcycle to ride over off-road trails. With 21-inch front and 19-inch spoke wheels, the Kawasaki KX250X has 80/100-21 front and 110/90-19 rear off-road tyres. Adding more prowess to the Kawasaki KX250X is its high ground clearance of 345mm and a light kerb weight of 108 kg. The 960mm seat height of the motorcycle makes it a difficult motorcycle to be on for shorter riders, though. A 240mm front petal disc brake and a 215mm rear petal disc brake take care of braking duties.
Kawasaki KX 250X Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Kawasaki KX250X sources its power from a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 249cc engine, which has been engineered to produce higher performance numbers than Kawasaki’s entry-level motocross bikes. Paired with a 5-speed transmission, this engine churns out 41 PS of maximum power and 25.4 Nm of peak torque output.
KX 250X Braking & Safety
The Kawasaki KX250X is stripped of many features to save weight, so, the motocross bike doesn’t get a single safety feature in place. However, the Kawasaki KX250X gets a factory-style 28.6mm Renthal aluminium Fatbar in the middle of the handlebar to absorb vibrations and shocks coming from off-road surfaces.
Kawasaki KX 250X Verdict
With no additional and basic convenience and safety features on offer, the Kawasaki KX250X has the sole purpose of making off-road trails a cakewalk, which it does with its performance, long-travel suspension and off-road-spec tyres and wheels.
