Kawasaki Z E-1 Review 2026
In 2024, Kawasaki officially established its presence in the Philippines’ electric mobility segment with the introduction of its two all-electric motorcycles, one of which was the Z e-1. This naked streetfighter combines smooth and peppy electrified performance with city-friendly handling and ergonomics, targeting both motorcycle enthusiasts and daily commuters. Additionally, Kawasaki claims that it was designed to compete against ICE-powered 125cc motorcycles in the local market. In the Philippines, the Kawasaki Z e-1 is currently priced at ₱597,000. This electric streetfighter is offered in a single tri-colour finish: Metallic Bright Silver/Metallic Matte Lime Green/Ebony.

Kawasaki Z E-1 Design
For starters, the Kawasaki Z e-1 measures 1,980 mm in length, 730 mm in width, 1,035 mm in overall height, and 785 mm in seat height. This electric streetfighter also comes with a 1,370-mm wheelbase and a 170-mm ground clearance.
The Z e-1 features an aggressive naked-bike design that looks menacing at first glance but is actually quite approachable for the average Filipino rider, thanks in large part to its impressive 135-kg curb mass and respectable seat height. At the front, it sports a confident-looking headlight assembly, giving it a powerful glare at night. It also fitted with a pair of pod-shaped signal lights and blacked-out mirrors with sharp contours. Underneath, it gets a silver front fender.
From the side, its naked side profile is complemented by sporty branding decals, some shiny silver finishes, and 17-inch wheels with lime green-coloured rims. Meanwhile, its sharp rear end is illuminated by a distinctive, triangular tail light, along with another pair of pod-shaped signal lights mounted on its license plate holder.
In terms of features, this electric naked streetfighter is equipped with a 4.3-inch all-digital TFT colour instrument display that supports smartphone connectivity. The Z e-1 also features Kawasaki’s innovative Walk mode that makes maneuvering around parking areas much easier. When it comes to practicality, it features a tank-mounted storage compartment with 5 liters of capacity, providing convenient space for documents and other small riding essentials.
Comfort-wise, the rider’s seat provides decent cushioning and support, while the pillion seat is relatively slim and narrow. This could make longer rides less comfortable for taller or larger passengers. On the bright side, the Z e-1 is fitted with well-positioned metal pillion footrests, which can make stop-and-go traffic more manageable for your OBR.
Kawasaki Z E-1 Ride & Handling
In terms of suspension, the Kawasaki Z e-1 utilizes a combination of a Telescopic Fork at the front and a Bottom-Link Uni-Trak at the rear. Its lightweight chassis makes it easy to maneuver around the city, allowing the rider to effortlessly navigate through tight traffic and crowded streets. Its suspension setup also does a good job of soaking up small to medium bumps and minor road imperfections, helping deliver a comfortable experience for both the rider and pillion.
Kawasaki Z E-1 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Kawasaki Z e-1 runs on a single permanent magnet synchronous motor (rated at 5 kW) that produces a maximum power output of 9 kW (12 PS) and a maximum torque output of 40.5 Nm. Feeding its electric motor are dual removable 30-Ah Lithium-Ion batteries that offer an approximate range of 72 kilometers. Each of these batteries can be charged from 0% to 100% in 3.7 hours. The Z e-1 comes mated to a clutchless single-speed direct drive system.
That said, this electric naked streetfighter is surprisingly very peppy off the line. Its electric motor offers smooth and instantaneous power delivery, making quick city cruises feel effortless. You also have the flexibility to adjust its performance depending on your current riding conditions, thanks to its Road and Eco modes. The Z e-1 boasts a maximum speed of 101 kmph in road mode, courtesy of Kawasaki’s e-boost technology.
Aside from that, its range is just enough for short work commutes or personal leisure trips but is a bit limited for longer-distance rides or out-of-town adventures. Overall, its electric powertrain offers a balance of riding excitement and city usability.
Kawasaki Z E-1 Braking & Safety
The Kawasaki Z e-1 comes with front and rear single disc brakes with a pair of dual-piston calipers. Its braking setup is supported by an anti-lock braking system. This electric naked streetfighter is also equipped with reflectors.
Kawasaki Z E-1 Verdict
While its premium price tag may not appeal to everyone, the Kawasaki Z e-1 can still be considered a compelling all-electric two-wheeled mobility option. It is city-friendly, exciting yet refined, and future-ready, thanks to its sustainable, emission-free powertrain and modern features.
